Thread: OKW Sturm Pioneers Buff 4 Nov 2015, 17:20 PM I don't know, I would still like if they got the incendiary grenades (instead of Volks who'd get back the old nade) to gain some utility (I know they can have flamers with the new doc, but... meh.). On a sidenote, I see OP mention that okw relies so heavily on call-in inf. I am by no means an expert, but from what I hear, a slight Obers price reduction could be appropriate. I think it could help, judging from my observations. Slight! Then again, OP stated the inf call-ins are for the time until the Flak HQ arrives, but still... Just a thought and sorry if the 2nd half was a bit offtopic In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: CieZ's State of CoH 2 - November 1, 20152 Nov 2015, 19:12 PM Whatever you do, decide and advise Relic to do, remember that a top player is not automatically a good and knowledgeable game designer. Many seem to think otherwise, which can deal a lot of damage. And it's also Relics fault for being so receptive of such things. The removal of auto-fire on all mortal units, for example, would put a lot of people off from ever using these units again. And before someone mentions skill-related arguments in that context, I just want to say that such micro-tax related changes (as suggested here) could be damaging to the game's appeal. Relic changed the name but didn't have recordings for the new name, so they only use generic. Such a waste, they should just let them use the Honor Guard lines. Exactly. These lines are/were superior in every way! Plus, every player who pays a little attention would understand that they are the ones who are being refered to as 'Honor Guard'. What's so wrong about having a unit named 'Obersoldaten' for the player, but having the german troops/announcer call them 'Honor Guard' - I don't get Relics weird logic in removing these perfectly fine (and MUCH better) voice lines for dubious reasons! ^^The voice lines I am talking about are the announcer lines when a Ober squad is finished, ofc. Right now it's a lame, generic ''Combat unit ready'' instead of the much more aggressive sounding, atmospheric and proud old announcement that stated sth about the 'Honor Guard' arriving... don't understand Relics decision at all in this particular case! Much better design decision would be to return to the old 'Honor Guard' announcer voice-line when Obers are finished. In: COH2 Bugs
Thread: Pershing & Rangers Speech Audio is Bland1 Nov 2015, 17:31 PM Relic should keep a list of missing/lacking audio, and once the list is long enough, they should re-invite the voice actors again to fill the gaps. There is many unpolished voice-overs. Sturmpioneers have a different voice when placing barbed wire, Rangers obviously use a very generic voice-over that was probablly made in advance to fill in for whatever unit they'd add in the (then) future. Many doctrinal abilities have very generic annoucements like 'unit ready'... or none at all. The 'new' combined US weapon rack upgrade has no announcement when finished or issued. When Obersoldaten are finished, the announcer gives us a lame 'unit ready'; even the old 'Honor Guard Ready' line, though no longer befitting the name of the unit, was a lot better and sounded much more powerful. ^^Here, Relic, start a list and use it to fill the voice-over gaps one day when it is long enough to justify the effort Sadly, I don't think such thing would happen, as many think that no money is to be gained from game-polish. Thread: Patch notes 29 Oct27 Oct 2015, 13:07 PM the removal of auto-face is rather stupid. This isn't Starcraft, where the game intentionally micro-taxes people just for the heck of it. There is other ways to fix things. They could've removed the suppression. Then again, that would be like admitting that it was a mistkae. Which they seem to lack the courage for. Also, it creates yet another inconsistency, with 'normal' Mortars still auto-facing while the WFA Mortar-like things don't. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: USF African American RETs21 Oct 2015, 13:47 PM The reason for this is actually really simple: There are no black face models. All currently existing face models look 'caucasian'. I guess that's why Relic abandoned the suppossedly 'black sounding' REs. To avoid yet another inconsistency. And out of laziness to actually create new face models :/ In: Lobby
Thread: New commanders incoming!!!15 Oct 2015, 18:22 PM Why a flamethrower on Sturmpios? Couldn't they just give them the incendiary grenade? It's more unique and creative than another flamethrower. Plus, it makes no sense on Volks (on them it's spamable in that it is very accessible and present in the field, plus the iconic and atmosphere-enriching stick grenade was removed from the game for it). The only way that flamethrower is unique is in that it is locked behind a doctrine. Just like the HMG34 is ''oh-so-creative-and-unique'' because it requires a doctrine. Unnecessary. In: Lobby
