But seriously, even though its a fair point that seven units probably should beat three units, there's something to be said about MGs being area denial tools. The scenario as described is the exact only time when two MGs should beat that many infantry squads. What happened is that it took too long for them to get pinned that they were still able to deal enough damage to push off the MGs and an Ostwind. (And P4 now.) Those fourteen PTRS are no joke, if we are to assume they'd all managed to hold onto all of their PTRS. But then again, just one infantry squad support of any kind to recrew an MG would've probably been enough to pin, even if the Ostwind and other MG had to run or was killed. In: COH2 Balance

Small arms v small arms fire only is neither common nor competitive in coh2. You can't just pretend it gives infantry mote effective health and still be accurate or meaningful. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Ostheer Grenadiers19 Aug 2016, 23:22 PM Remember that the 240mp squad has to/should retreat after 160 damage instead of the 240 damage of 280mp riflemen or 320 of 240mp conscripts. Squad size has a great deal to do with field presence too. Grens have to be at full strength to recrew a team weapon without sacrificing the squad. There's more than just, uh, wipeability at work with a squad size of 4. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: the problem with USF mortar18 Aug 2016, 23:40 PM I feel like the mortar needs to be in the lieutenant tier. The lt should be cheaper and unlock only the mortar and mg until either captain or major is called in. It could even feasibly swap the m20 and aa ht for pak howie and atg if that were the case.
