Brits already lack any sort of reliable garrison-clearing capability; do we really want to make the new premium commander the only real chance Brits have to clear garrisons/break a stalemate before tanks arrive? That will oblige the Brits to invest too much in emplacements (only source of indirect fire) imo. (Yes, the UC costs no fuel now; still costs 90MU, and its counters will be as available as ever). If the cost of the glider should be taken into account the same logic should apply to other cases and all infantries that come with transporter vehicles are over priced... It has been argued in this thread that commandos is the most expensive units that it is under-performing for its cost. Neither is correct Commandos cost is 350 and are balanced around that price they cost only 10 manpower more than PGs for instance and they are far superior in AI then them ober are more expensive and without a weapon upgrade are far less weaker... let's just agree to lower the call in cost (glider cost) In: COH2 Gameplay

Thus: that's a pretty convenient excuse to ignore the extra 150 mp price tag. fallschirmjaeger and stormtrooper pay for their instant house spawn. The glider insertion is nice for getting onto the field fast, but it lack any sort of stealth and surprise. the vanguard commandos is fine. the problem is with the commandos regiment. If placed inside friendly territory it will act as an reinforce point. the normal glider can't be repaired and can be damaged by small arms fire. On most maps, the glider is going to lose half of its hp from the landing alone. the glider also need to be in friendly territory in order to reinforce. Its reinforcement capability is really over hyped. In: COH2 Gameplay

If used correctly the commandos can wipe some support weapons before they have to retreat which can justify the high MP cost. the glider takes about 30 seconds to land. On some map it's faster than walking, but if the germans are paying attention they shouldn't be caught by surprise. The glider's flight path also reveal its approximate landing zone as well. The german would need to be caught sleeping to miss such an obvious warning. In: COH2 Gameplay

How much is the premium for Fallschirmjäger and JLI? Lowering the glider cost of the commandos regiment will not affect vanguard. They are separate ability. Even assuming that vanguard commandos is balanced, it doesn't address the commandos regiment's 500 mp call in cost. fallschirmjager and jaeger's building spawn allow them to take enemy by surprise. The glider landing is obvious and slow. the fallschirmajger call is 440 mp and squad cost is 304. This mean the house spawn cost 136. jaeger call in is 290 and squad cost is 300. Their house spawn cost 10 mp. In: COH2 Gameplay
