Addressing the negative points casting is actually a pleasurable hobby for me I don't want a penny for it, and see casting high level tournament play as a great honour. I approach it as a for-fun performance that I personally get a lot out of! If Relic use that for marketing purposes that's great! I love this game series and want to see more people a part of it. I just think it's silly seeing people going "Why isn't this a team tournament?" when the game wasn't designed for that sort of thing. You can enjoy it, of course. But when you're talking about a serious, developer-sponsored tournament, you're going to play it on the mode best suited for competitive play. That mode is 1v1, for very obvious reasons that I really shouldn't have to point out. Some very well argued points by yourself in this thread, I agree with you mostly on the 1v1 vs. team game front for serious competitive tournaments. I'd like to hope you're wrong in your cynicism about Relic only doing a few modest tournaments to tick marketing boxes though, although I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just hoping that you are. Rattenkrieg Challenge where the CoH community is challenged to compete in challenges, utilising the dirtier tactics of warfare. This challenge is all around building a ridiculous explosive of colossal proportions, and detonating it destroying as much of your enemy as you can in one fell swoop. Rules & Conditions: As always this will be deliberately open ended to foster creativity It's called the "mega mine" but it's all about anything that explodes on the ground. * The explosion must be in a competitive automatch game. * Style points for saying "merry christmas" when it goes off * One mine is the overall mine as an entity not the individual mines that represent it graphically. Four graphical mines for one teller mine = one mine for this competition etc. There will be two winning entries: * Most units killed or damage dealt in a single explosion. (must be more than two explosive items) * Largest explosion, most individual explosive items used. (must kill at least one unit) Prizes are Heavy Cav and Firestorm, give them to your friends if you have them already, become popular!
