Thread: To Old school vCoH players: Why do you choose CoH2?12 Feb 2016, 11:01 AM - UI and ease of life changes, reverse button and unit icons selector, drag box reinforce, units actually stay in cover etc. etc. - no CoH1 Brits which are cancerous - vCoH meta is super stale to me, inf vs. terror over and over. - snipers are too dominant in vCoH it gets boring quickly. - I'm too shit to play CoH1 against pros, in CoH2 I always get another average 1v1 player at peak times - I now have a top spec pc capable of overcoming CoH2's optimisation, so the fact that CoH1 runs like chocolate is no longer an advantage cus CoH2 1v1 runs well for me too now. - true sight is too good a dynamic to play without, it offers a layer of tactical depth that is sorely missed. Thread: USF 1v1 vs. OKW mid rank11 Feb 2016, 14:33 PM Jump back to quoted post11 Feb 2016, 13:58 PMDonnieChan it's very weak against cpt in houses. i only use cpt to keep him at bay. mostly i don't even get zook or at gun and just ignore the puma. instead i upgrade my infantry with Bars and Grenades (because OKW has invested a ton of resource in an only-AT vehicle). at this point, i usually have bunkered a lot of ammo (like 300+). i upgrade my rifles with as many bars as possible an get additional RE (flamer when rifle company, otherwise bars). now i have more and better infantry which i use to attack both fuels at the same time and wait for sherman. you can also alter this a bit by dropping paratroopers and a 50cal. the biggest problem imo is garrisoned units. usually i get pack howitzer (i can afford it, because no at gun) and barrage every garrisoned house. you could also flank it, i just hate the house mechanics so i use the Hammer method. Thread: USF 1v1 vs. OKW mid rank11 Feb 2016, 11:45 AM Give me a pep talk, I need to get a grip of myself and work out how to tackle OKW as USF, my rank varies between 500-800 (not enough time to play consistently) - at the moment I come up against a brick wall as USF. If I'm playing well and so is the OKW player I feel I have no chance to win. Any rough guidelines to pull away and get the 'W'? In: Strategy Desk

My 'Testing Ground' map would be whatever giant ass 4v4 scale map looks most like English countryside then clear a big square in the centre and make it flat and planar (for testing). then fill in some areas for testing: Option 1) Copy and paste segmented areas a few famous areas from 1v1 maps, Semois/ Arnhem town centre? crossing in the woods bridge. Please include a big blank big ass 'firing range' space, and anything else you'll think would be cool for testing. Option 2) same as above except if you can't copy past from other maps, just create some quick and easy equivalents of the above. I'd absolutely love it if you could create me the above would use it on all my videos. Pay for postage and make me a very simple custom map for my Testing Ground YouTube series, and my 2GB AMD Radeon (Sapphire) (£200 in 2014) is yours it can play CoH2 medium-high settings at 40-50 fps. Great card for this game, I just needed a boost for streaming at high quality etc so got a 3.5 GB Nvidia 970 recently. In: Replays

It's a competitive event, the players are competitors, it's meant to be a spectacle in the same vein as a sporting spectacle. It's all about the best of the best, people trying their hardest to beat them. Please try and apply your logic in the proper context. There may end up being more casual ESL tournaments that aren't for money and encourage more casual players, in fact I'm 95% sure there will be. But that'd be a separate ball game and a different context. edit: also I was waiting for the spark that starts off the comment chain, for that line of arguing please refer to the massive thread night posted, where the vast majority of people had the 'competitive' line of reasoning I share.
