Its not simply the win/loss ratio multiplied by 100. That would again lead to infinity in case of zero losses. Percentage is wins/(wins+losses) = wins/(total number of games). This one is superior to win/loss ratio due to the reason mentioned by Seb. It cannot grow to infinity but is limited between 0 and 1.00 In: Site Feedback

When we first launched coh2 the rating scale factor was a bit higher for your 'placement' games than it is now. It unfortunately meant that some people who won a lot at the very beginning ended up with a higher rating than they probably should have. We didn't go back and update all the ratings to match as that's work we can devote to other things, and it will balance out in the end. May that explain why there are quite a few players at the top of the ladder, who played a lot during Beta, but did stop playing after release (before you adjusted the point system)? Thread: Leader Board/ Ladders UP!17 Aug 2013, 21:33 PM CoH2 uses an ELO rating system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo Long story short. You start with 1000 points as a new player. From there you earn or lose points after each match. The points you earn/lose are weighted by the point difference (rank difference) of the players in each match. Therefore, it doesnt really matter how many games you play. You only need to consistently win against people with more points to rank up quickly. On the other side, if you play 400 games and lose 50% of them, and assuming equal strength of your opponents you will still stand at the same point where you started at 0 games. In: Lobby

If you play 30 games against players who are ranked significantly above you, you will earn a lot of points. If you play 30 games against noobs, you will not earn that many points. I don't know if ELO+ is significantly different to ELO, but ELO has proven to be one of the best systems out there. It's used in Chess and many other competitive games.
