I do play Axis when I feel like winning games.
Anyway, I don't really think whatever small bonus Allied MGs have in damage vs vehicles or other units is that relevant because its not the job of a machine gun to fight vehicles or necessarily kill infantry and besides the vetted MG42 with AP rounds is even better in that area anyway lol! I mean the Vickers can't even cover a capture point and keep a signle enemy sqaud from taking it from you. The Browning is okay but costs more than its superior Wehrmacht counter part for no apparent reason and its more on pop. With the preformance and stats the way they are then a Browning being 280 MP and 7 Pop means an MG42 should be 300 MP and 8 pop and a Vickers should be almost free (half joking). The MG34 for OKW isn't nearly as good as the MG42 for Wehrmacht but it still seems as good or better than the Browning or Vickers. The fact that the Browning is locked behind USF tech is pretty relevent because usually you have to pick between AT guns or MGs since its rarely viable to get both in most games (yes yes I know you can do the Airborne thing and avoid that but you shouldn't have to depend on a doctrine to survive). This of course is something neither Axis nor Brits or Soviets have to worry about |
MG42 is best, Grens beat the hell out of Riflmen with that upgrade. |

Wehraboos complain, its what they do but why complain about PIATs? Those things are the worst hand held AT in the game. No other AT misses as often. |
I can't really decide where the imbalance seems to be here. For example RIflemen, Infantry Sections M2 .50 cal and Vickers MGs all preform poorly compared to their Wehrmacht or OKW counter parts. I'm wondering what could maybe fix this if it would involve increasing the cost of Axis units to better align with USF or UKF or decreasing the cost of western Allied units to put them on a more even playing field.
Some don't see this disparity but it shouldn't be hard to notice. US Rear Echelons are only 40 MP less than Grens and think about how poorly they preform compared to Grens. Grens are 40 MP less than Riflemen, but they often out class them in most engagements. The M2 .50 cal was nerfed and left to cost 20 MP more than it's superior Wehrmacht counter part besides the fact its locked behind tech (which isn't necessarily bad).

Pffft. USF's riflemen beat the hell out of Wehrmacht's "cheap ass" Grens, especially when they get the BAR's or 1919LMGs. Riflemen are amazing.
Also, while the Gren initial cost is lower, they pay more for reinforcement.
Either way riflemen suck pretty bad. That BAR upgrade is a side tech and requires a retreat to HQ for the upgrade so its not like its readily available. Volksgrens are like the prefect core infantry unit though, cheap and good long and short range weapons. |
Pffft. Wehrmacht's cheap ass 240 MP Grens beat the hell out of Riflemen especially when they get the MG42 upgrade or G43s. Riflemen preform abysmally for their cost, the only worse infantry unit for the price is probably the UKF Infantry Section. |

They need to do the following the fix the faction:
Revert the stupid nerf to the Bren guns, I don't know WTF they were thinking with what they did to it in the last patch.
Just give the infantry sections a snare, seriously WTF again? Make it like USF where Infantry Sections have yo get to vet 1 if you must but give them a snare, there is no reason why they shouldn't have a snare that's a basic feature, its almost like a bug that they don't have one.
Let the forward CPs build medics AND a retreat point. You can make them build another one for a repair station but cut Brits some slack on this please, good greif.
Make the Comet a better tank. Come on, the thing is expenisve, make it worth the cost probably needs more health and pen or just make it cheaper if you have to leave its stats as it is. Good greif. You know people paid for this faction with their hard earned money it's pretty sad rhey had to nerf it into the ground like they did. |
I hate the whole battle phase too, But WM is the most complete faction on the game, Commanders are only there for the flavor since you have everything from the faction itself. (support weapons, heavy infantry, rocket arty, 3 mediums, one heavy tank, especialized mines)
Also, all units are very cost efficient when used right. The only drawback on WM is that if you lose too much vetted units late game you are screwed.
only other faction that comes close is brits, but brits have no snare LUL
Maybe 2 patches ago Brits were decent not anymore, especially this last spring patch beat them to death with the nerf hammer. Naw, only Soviets are a match for Wehrmacht now. |
