tbh it's not surprising. TD spam is required because of the 960 HP non doc panther. The nondoc obers don't exactly encourage infantry play from allies either. And in turn because of TD spam you're required to callin a heavy TD to out range them. Welcome to the meta |
That would make it a tiger I with different skin though. I honestly prefer to go for IS-2 when I want IS-2 and for tiger when I want a tiger.
Aside from the mounted MG, vet 1 ability, and slightly lower mobility, then yes it would be. |
Genuine question: is this thread about the IS2 being too bad or too good?
I'd say it's balanced, but inconsistant. Personally, and some agree with me, lowering the armor value to tiger level (300) and then making the gun consistant instead of an RNG cannon would allow the tank to reliably gain vet and dish damage, while also fixing the StuG/JP4 problem of having relatively low pen. |

Costs 640MP 230F, same as Tiger 1 IIRC.
The IS-2 has KT armor, decent mobility, a good AoE cannon but is rather inaccurate. It is one of the few remaining callin tanks of the game, and has seen decent playtime now since shock troop and the KV-8 have been buffed, making shock rifle one of the better soviet doctrines. The tank itself is rather balanced if I do say so myself, but inconsistancies should be looked at.
What I want to know is if we were to change this tank, what would you change? The 375 armor? Gun accuracy? Price? Tieing it to tech? |

it makes up with faster reload and fire time
Reload doesn't change based on distance. The fire time does, but still don't think it's blasting away models with a change from 0.92 mid acc to 0.575, even if aim time goes to 2.25 secs from 3. |
jli are still op close range too as the 75%crit is too strong
Pretty sure that'll be the 3 kar98s at 16 damage a shot, since the scoped G43 can hit shit at that range. |
You keep throwing out the word without seemingly to know its connotations. How are Shocks OP in any form even now? They still don't want to fight at mid-range as it means other units can be brought up to support versus them.
They are a dedicated AI squad that needs to be positioned and cannot be A-moved like LMG units. Sure, they can 1v1 most other squads, but everything else hardcounters them its easier to keep at range than it is for them to close distance, even with smoke.
I'd say that makes them map dependant than blatantly OP. JLI might be OP, but on south KFS around all the hedges you can close in on them easily. Same is true for shocks, A-move LMG grens/obers don't matter in CQC areas |
It's war, people die in it, and no one 100% follows the rules of it either. Whoever wins also decides what to do with the loser. Been that way for millions of years.
There is good and bad about all sides, nitpicking one side will most likely skew your thinking exponentially. |
