So I reinstalled this the other day having played it to death 10-ish years ago. There are still about 7k players online at any time and to my surprise it's not just because of dota. I was still able to find a 1v1 automatch quite quickly.
This was a real blast from the past and nearly brought tears to my eyes as this is hands down the game that I've spent the most time playing. Anyone here play WC3 anymore? |
What about increased cost+fuel and remove penalties(mp and fuel penalties)?
Don't bother replying to aaa, he's the chief forum troll. |
Map filtering at last! |
They have different purposes though. The Tiger Ace is a tactical call-in more than anything.
Getting a Tiger to vet 3 is no easy feat. The Tiger Ace, in addition to being max vet, also allows you to get some tanks before you unlock it since it costs no fuel. But once you get it, you'd better win the game fast!
I'd say the Tiger Ace is useful when needing a call-in to tip the scales in your favour decisively and win the game quickly and the regular Tiger is just a replacement for tier 4 in matches that will drag on.
Essentially, the Tiger Ace has great shock value initially and then its usefulness goes down with time, while the regular Tiger has moderate shock value but gets more and more useful as it vets up. |
Only players like Redxiwngs, Fortune or VindicareX are not playing cancer in any match.
Bwahahahaha. |
Did they even decide what the MG34 call-in will be replaced with? |
LOL nobody ever uses this tank anyway, and now we're talking about spam after a slight cost reduction? Get real. |
As for bulletins, they should give us the option of scrapping all, not just dupes. This way I use the ones I want/need
I thought you could sell any bulletin for supply with the new system?
Concerning the stacking thing, I don't know what to think. I mean some bulletins are worthless without stacking, but I doubt anyone is going to bother to redesign them at this stage. On the other hand I'm probably just going to get +3% acc, -3% reload, and -2% reload and cooldown for all basic infantry and that's it. For 1v1 that's good enough. |
Balance aside, removing crush from meds feels like bandaid half arsed fix by removing very imprtant, one of franchise defining features.
Well it's hardly known as Company of Crushers now is it? |
So perfect that they're only good when stopped in cover at long range and have to pay at least 50 fuel and 300(?)mp for upgrades to compete after early game.
Except for the part where most of those tanks are fairly expensive
Except for the fact that defensive infantry and reliance on MGs puts them squarely as a defensive faction
High prices, shit map control early game, worst light vehicles in game (unless you can't micro 222s), inflexible core infantry with a high reliance on upgrades, reliance on squishy light vehicle for anti-garrison, no mobile artillery, worst stock late-game arty option, no snares, worst hand-held AT for dealing with light vehicles, no mobile smoke to deal with MGs until you can vet a cromwell, core infantry bleed like crazy to snipers, etc. etc.
And less armor, health, worse veterancy, lower penetration. Its almost like its a panther class unit that trades armor for speed and AT for AI or something. Please check your stats before making BS claims.
Blatant hyperbole.
They have 240/180 armor. PShreks have a ~71% chance to pen, Stugs have ~77% with an excellent rate of fire, paks have an ~83% chance, panthers 100% at mid range and shorter. They require 9 penning hits to kill from normal AT. Two Paks can force one off pretty easily if they're faced and spotted correctly.
Lol, so this went from Brits are OP to Brits are the worst ever. |
