Thread: Armored Assault tips?22 May 2017, 07:58 AM I'm by no means an expert compared to some of the other guys in here, but I have recently refound my love for the standard t-34/76. It seems that during the last year of patches it has been both power creeped and directly buffed, so it now provides a decent and very cost-efficient counter to both german mediums as well as infantry. In my opinion you get more bang for the buck with these guys now and choosing the smaller gun will save you a lot of fuel so you will be able to rush out an IS-2 much faster. Of course skipping the t-34/85 could beg the question whether armoured assault is the best choice of IS-2 doctrine? In: Red Army Strategies

It is amazing that after 1000+ hours there are still so many small tweaks to lean and improve on. You can use doctrine with replacement of loses with osttrupens (and use them only for snare and team weapons) and PG with g43 and shrecks as replacement your Core infantry. This upgrade make PG universal (from terms of effective range). For close combat their have STG, for long g43 (and possibility to oneshot wounded models from enemy squad). In fact i found that g43 very good choice for shreck squad too, because with that you can wound enemy from long range distance. Thanks for the reply, but wouldn't you en general want your units really good at one thing rather than average at several things? by getting them g43 they get better dps at long range but lower at short range, and their long range dps will still only be limited to the two models with the rifles. with something like pzfusiliers or grenadiers they are already good at long range so the g43 is a direct upgrade. with this it seems like you are just evening things out. But I guess I see your point when combined with osttruppen, but this doctrine will still have you rely on grens, so barring that you lost them wouldn't it almost always be better to spend your 45 munis on upgrading them and keeping the pgrens for mid range and close up wipes or as tank hunters? I never really considered this, because I always figured that, unlike with standard grens, it would not be a significant upgrade from their starting weapons. Have I in fact been wrong in this assumption? Have any of you ever given g43s to Pgrens and if so, under what circumstances could this be a good idea? P.S. I was using the term ”map hack” as a colloquial term like Posttruppen, Terminator marines or CalliOP and my intention was certainly not to sound salty. Quite the opposite in fact. I realize that it is an overstatement to say that they reveal the whole map. My point was simply that they reveal a lot and I was having a hard time countering this when the opponent had this amount of intel about the positioning of my MG and AT-guns. I specifically clarified that I did not find the p47 to be OP or cheese, but was simply asking for advice as I had not encountered this strategy before and was asking the forum for advice. In the mid game a puma can keep quad and stuart at bay, later on you do not tech for tier3 but get command panzer4 instead (most USF players often play extended light vehicle phase with calliOP commander, so this punishes them greatly). In the late game, command panzer works great against infantry blobs and pumas can hunt down any calliOPe, thanks to their speed and general weaknesses in USF defences (if they go many calliOPes, they cannot get medium tanks ). This build works greatly with tier 4 (puma, command panzer, tier4). USF doesn´t have any counter to panther (in this doctrine), if you support it well with your infantry and brumbaar will wipe enemy squads as well and the calliOP yours. Also cheap ostruppen replacements does wonders, if you lose many squads to calliOP lategame and all you need is to cap. Hope this helped you Thanks man!
