This is different from sticky bombs, which can be dodged up to the point where the sticky bomb leaves the rifle's hand, since the animation will be cancelled if the vehicle moves out of range before that point. Strategically, CoH2 is an interesting game. It's far too early to say if it will be good or bad, but it has potential. The problem is, it's terribly frustrating to play. It lacks clear feedback mechanisms, and it forces players to fight for information that should be readily available. That is terrible design, plain and simple, and it needs to be addressed before we can start talking strategy and balance. In: Lobby
Thread: CoH2 replay Top 311 Apr 2013, 19:08 PM The problem is, instead of designing for these features from the get-go, Relic decided to stick with a nearly identical replay structure from vanilla. The replay file is formatted almost exactly the same as in vCoH, and contains extremely similar information. For certain things like rewinding replays and observing, drastic changes would have to be made to both the replay file, how that replay file is written, and how the game engine runs replays. This would've been a lot easier to do if it were planned from the beginning. In: Lobby

I think a good solution to this would be that if the nade is thrown, it will land in deep snow and snow makes the blast radious smaller. Makes sense me thinks. That would be an interesting compromise. That way you could put a squad in deep snow, knowing you won't be able to dodge a grenade but also that the grenade won't do as much damage, or you could stay out of deep snow and be able to dodge grenades, but take a lot of damage if you screw up. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to dodge grenades right now regardless of where your units are standing. In: COH2 Gameplay
