I do agree that Ostrup. are a little too good for their cost, but I'm with Brad that it makes more sense to increase their reinforce time so you can't just endless spam them. I also never really liked the Tiger Ace mechanic either but it's hardly an iWin button, once the initial shock value of it wears off your gimped income will lose you the game if it drags on more often than not. Thread: The poor little sherman27 Apr 2016, 15:07 PM HE Shells are still the best tank AI in the game (aside from ISU/KT obviously). They exist for a reason - so the Sherman isn't an "effective against everything all the time" unit. If you want to merge the two shells then it would effectively be a nerf because the AI would have to be nerfed accordingly because no way in hell does it make sense to have that effective AI/AT combo for the cost of a Sherman. Also, it seriously takes like 4 seconds to switch the shells. That minuscule amount of micro makes up for itself several times over given how useful HE shells are. In: Scrap Yard

It's impossible to kite units if your opponent goes mass MG squads. I know the patch is going to finally allow US to (hopefully) effectively deal with units in buildings thanks to the mortar team, but that still doesn't help the early-mid game light vehicles being pointless to make. Again I want to see an all around game with every unit being viable rather than saying "No it's pointless to make that unit since it will just die instantly". So don't get fausted... that's the point lol. Nothing is impossible - if he has multiple Gren squads chasing down your vehicle what are your squads doing? If his Grens are chasing you trying to faust then your Rifles will tear them apart (don't have your vehicle alone without screening troops if you are getting fausted often). Screening troops also help you survive if you do get fausted and can cover your retreat or a fast repair critical to drive away. You just have to practice your micro... saying a light vehicles are pointless is just a cop out there isn't much more to it than that. Its no different then chasing down a snared 222 with bazookas or AT grenades as Soviets. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Panzerfausts need a change.27 Apr 2016, 02:11 AM Fausts are fine and a needed part of OST design if you remove the snare they are helpless against light vehicles and you can't reduce damage or else the snare doesn't work against medium or heavy tanks. They are fine. You have to learn how to kite Grenadiers and avoid fausts - its just how Allied light vehicle play works; properly executed its very effective but if you get fausted then its game over man. Their grenade costs 45mu but does near no damage, and no damage at all in buildings. They aren't strong enough to kill a luchs alone and they cost 330mp ? They can barely kill a 222 now. You want penals to have some use, but what about guards infantry? Even conscripts with ptrs is a better use of mp/mu. 2CP - You mean like almost every other Call-in Infantry (Ostruppen and Ass Grens aside?) Of course they cost more to reenforce - they are elite infantry. Why get Cons if they would cost the same upkeep? Only Shock Troopers and Heavy Engineers have Armor... I don't know what you mean. Cost is about more than DPS - you're paying for their utility of having Upgrades, Stock Grenades, and Light AT - you could say the same thing about Grens being useless without LMG42. The grenades are awesome, if you whiff in a building its because you didn't throw it at the windows with models in them. If you think they should be able to solo a Luchs then you are SEVERELY delusional about their role. They are to deter light vehicles alone (2+ Guards will quickly force off a Luches though) @ Cons PTRS Its very difficult to use them as replacement mainline infantry due to cost (just like OKW can't spam Falls or OST can't spam PZ Grens). It's all about using them correctly - they are rather good now after they fixed Veterancy. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: These OKW HQ nerfs are over the top24 Apr 2016, 00:46 AM To put things in perspective 100 MP and 15 Fuel is roughly 30 seconds of income... you make it sound like adding that upgrade cost is some huge burden but its not that expensive. It doesn't change the fact that OKW still has the most durable source of healing that also doubles as a Forward Retreat Point; a huge advantage in some maps/modes. You're basically paying for that advantage. Simple fact is that adding the upgrade cost doesn't make Battlegroup starts less viable because ISGs and FRP are still useful and you'll eventually need the healing unless you want to rely on medical crates. Best solution is to tweak the cost of SWS or Buildings accordingly or maybe change cost to MP only and/or Muni (fuel is kind of excessive given cost of OKW vehicles IMO) In: COH2 Balance
