Thread: What Bug/QOL fixes would you like to see in patch?30 Jan 2017, 15:40 PM One of the most exciting things for me about the upcoming patch is the multitude of fixes and features being added that were long overdue in some cases. So simple question - what bug fixes or quality of life improvements would you like to see addressed that already haven't been mentioned in the patch notes? Special mention to the fact that I know they are actively trying to find a fix to the panzerfaust bug where it sometimes derps out and hits the ground. Personally, I'd like to see the Raketenwerfer bug fixed where it's prioritize vehicles doesn't work while it is garrisoned. It's pretty bad that the one "perk" to compensate it's squishy nature is completely negated by the fact that the crew goes rogue and fires at everything giving away its position. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: What should be BUFFED with certainty?27 Jan 2017, 20:26 PM For certainty- Greyhound, Para Combat Group, and M3 Call-In for USF. The Panzer Commander Upgrade for Elite Armor is terrible and needs buffed and so does the Flame Hetzer (borderline certainty) for OKW. I'd say Assault Grens for OST and probably Assault Engis as well - neither of them scale worth a damn. The tiny call-in AT Gun for Soviets is also pretty bad. I agree with Churchill for Brits too and definitely the Valentine Tank. Other units like Shock Troopers and Obers are "good enough" but could probably get tweaked to perform up to cost. Well yes... the general definition is that a blob is a "large concentration of troops". But the point I"m trying to make is that when it comes to the nitty gritty programming side of it you can't just say "well duh, you aren't playing "correctly" and blobbing so you get a debuff" Relic would have to say "Debuff when X number of squads are within X Meters". Sure you can add modifiers like "X number of the same squad" but then you get into all kinds of goofy conundrums. What about USF and UKF? They only have 1 kind of combat infantry if you go certain commanders and the whole point of those factions is that you use weapon racks to diversify. Are 2 Zook Rifles and 2 BAR rifles a blob? Would it be "impractical" to have 4+ Sappers if you've gone Anvil and have a lot of high HP Churchill tanks to repair? What about forward retreat points? God forbid you ever get pinned after a mass retreat and then you're doubly screwed because you're debuffed on top of it all. It's just really difficult to implement without a whole slew of possible side effects that would break the game. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Debuff for blobs26 Jan 2017, 15:49 PM The problem with artificial debuffs to blobs is that it might indiscriminately punish players for blobbing who really aren't (there is a difference between mindless clump blobbing and tactical concentration of forces). Should an Ostheer player get punished for having 2 shreked up PZ Grens hanging around their other Infantry providing AT support? The problem is that you can't really ever really decide what the criteria for a "blob" is without context. Many times you'll see high level players with 4 + squads in the same general area but its not blobbing because you can see them individually microing squads into cover or what have you. You just end up punishing players who have more squads and give an indirect advantage to the other team to get back in the game because they have a smaller army. Personally I just make a point to always have an "anti-blob" commander in my loadouts that it my go-to when I see the other team blobbing. For example- Assault Support for its Insta AOE Pin, Calliope, Strum Tiger, Goliath, the list goes on... In: COH2 Balance

How do you even manage to get a shot off before your opponent drifts lazily to the left to avoid you? To clarify I'd like to see the speed penalty reduced or removed maybe in exchange for toning down the aura buff if needed. I think the point of the command vehicle isn't to be firing itself but to be supporting other units - but as is the current speed debuff means it can't keep up with other vehicles which more or less removes it from any offensive role so you're stuck with a very defensive vehicle that can't defend itself all that well, which isn't really what you want in most cases. Thread: Can't get a hang of OKW5 Jan 2017, 21:36 PM Personally I've found that practicing your Kubel micro is a good way to play effectively as OKW. If you play as Allies you'll sometimes run into OKW players whose Kubel micro is so good that it's very hard to deal with. Early Kubel pressure can easily give you an early advantage for several reasons. 1. Fast/More efficient Capping (either opposite side of map allowing you to concentrate your forces elsewhere or by harassing your opponent's fuel or cut off) 2. "Free" Manpower bleed and damage - Kubels can soak up damage very well if RNG bounces land in your favor - if you get good at keep them repaired with a nearby SP then it's a huge headache to deal with at no MP cost to you. Also Kubels are very good at doing HP damage so that sqauds get low and drop models faster in future engagements- forcing your opponent to go for healing sooner than ideal. 3. Cheesey stuff like pushing squads out of cover (especially Brits). Just drive at them and shoot at the squads with your volks while the Kubel pushes them around. It's very effective in some cases. If you do that kind of stuff correctly then you can snowball into fast STGs/Luches/PZ4 and gain an upperhand while delaying the current overperforming Allied light vehicles. Otherwise OKW in general is all about good truck placement and Synergy - using your Flak Truck to cover important points/ ISG batteries while supporting your Battlegroup for reinforcement. Once you get the hang of placing trucks in a defensible but useful location then OKW gets a lot more effective as well. Well placed Truck Sim Cities supported by support weapons are one of OKW's major strengths I would say. In: OKW Strategies

The reason people dont use it as a aura unit is because it is to dam slow and chances are you will lose it in combat. I dont see what removing it from UC acheives. If you want people to use it as a aura unit you got to remove the speed penalty and then you will see how it performs and can adjust it accordingly. I think his point is that currently its a no-brainer to use it as a UC-maphax tool so there is a double incentive to not use it as an Aura vehicle (cheap map hax and the penalties making it generally not worthwhile to make an AEC or Cromwell a command vechile). By removing the UC option you at least remove half of the disincentive to use it as an Aura vehicle so that the penalties can be looked at in the future. I do agree that the speed nerf is the primary reason I find it hard to use it as an aura vehicle, which is a shame because I've always felt like the aura was one of those secret borderline OP things that nobody uses because of the meta. You can get some pretty great synergy with a command vehicle and Fireflies for example. Personally I'm looking forward to trying CV AVRE again now that there is a hold fire button to make AVRE less frustrating to use. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Forward Observation Post15 Dec 2016, 17:43 PM Actually the HE Arty is rather good - I'm pretty sure its a copy-paste of the I&R Pathfinder Arty. It's just as Imageless says - the commander is so munitions heavy with Arty Cover that it's super immpractical to use this ability (not to mention the limitations that its only good on certain maps with garrisons that are able to be upgraded). It might be nice if it was tweaked (upgrade to a Forward Assembly maybe)? Or change it's bonus to be something closer to the Soviet Forward HQ (but less obnoxious). In: COH2 Balance

How many points do you cap with your MG42? 1? 2? C'mon, relax man... Not sure about your supposition that support weapons cap slower. You should check that idea. You've clearly never watched casts of top players like Gentlefox who will often go 2X Pioneer 2X MG42 and rush into Tier 2 units as OST. Never mind that UKF units are so pricey that you often only build 2 units before teching. If Vickers or MG42 can't cap then that means you only have 2 capping squads for the first several minutes. If you don't think that's a big deal try capping with only 2 Rear Echelons or 2 Volks Grenadiers and see how your resource income fares against your opponents. Even if it doesn't hurt the factions too bad then it really limits your potential build orders which is objectively terrible for the game. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: HMGs - remove capping ability14 Dec 2016, 17:00 PM This is a terrible idea - it's a super nerf to factions who can build MGs from Tier 0 (or close to it in the case of Soviets) and makes early MG builds useless because you can't cap at all and for example forces Ost to build only Pios and Grens at start if you want any capping at all.
