Thread: The Cancer That Is Soviet Field HQ17 Jan 2020, 14:56 PM To be honest, I have a harder time dealing with this commander as OKW then I do with Wehrmacht. The 250 is non doctrinal and flame upgrades on pios are helpful while OKW has to rely on a commander. I do understand you have to pick a commander to counter another one but Wehrmacht has more of non-doctrinal advantages. In: COH2 Balance

I will admit, it's not so popular that every player builds one in every game, but there's usually at least one in a 4v4 game, from my experience (top ~150 4v4 random teams). I think it depends on the map too. The most ideal map to build IR is Essen or City 17 but open maps like Steppes or Whiteball might not work due to easy flanks and lack of shot blockers. At first, the heavy tanks came in very late due to high CP requirements which impacted 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 players. The amount of information it gives is absurd, and it does so at an incredibly low cost and pop. Its utility is especially strong when combining it with various on-map arty units (LeFH, W-Stuka, PW).
