No worries, didn't intentionally add to the garbage. I wasn't careful with what I was writing because I was annoyed reading about how the 120 is okay or even better than the standard mortar. It's similar to saying that the B4 is better than the ML20. If I wanted to play the lottery, I'd waste 45 minutes of my time to run to a store and buy a ticket rather than wasting 45 minutes trying a substandard COH2 unit. In: COH2 Balance

You did not just say that. Oops, yes, LEIG does not hardcounter HM38. It soft counters okay enough. Leigs relatively quickly decrew the standard mortar. In: COH2 Balance

One shot and the whole squad turned to wounded, almost died mens. IF you want, you can make 2 120 mm mortars - after that you will see how tough it can be. I saw sometimes this strat, in small maps it could be effective. Getting two 120's seems like a good way to lose quickly. They're soft countered by the LEIG which has the same range, seems to fire faster (disclaimer: I haven't checked actual game stats), COSTS LESS, lower pop cap, and actually hits what it targets. I had a USF and Soviet try weapon team spam against me on Eindhoven last week and racked up 90 kills with two LEIGS. In that same match, the Soviet had tried Maxim spam at first. The small arc and standard (slow) setup time of the Maxim make it easy to flank even when they have multiple MG's on a small map. Even when the player does get it down in time to shoot, you can often finish moving through the arc and not get suppressed. I haven't played 1v1's in the current match, but think that the Maxim underperforming is part of the problem. editoft counter, not hard counter as others pointed out In: COH2 Balance

It x150%. Use the 120 mm vs static targets like OKW trucks and you will see how good it is. No, its really not. Assuming that your 150% is true, it still doesn't mean more damage to the static truck, it just means that near misses are more likely to damage it. It won't offset the difference in firing rate. Add in the fact that the standard mortar has flare at Vet 0 and it's a much better mortar. The only advantage to the 120 is that it can barrage from 100(?) instead of 80. Sometimes this is helpful against trucks. Even then, it's easily countered by the much better and cheaper LEIG. In: COH2 Balance

Maybe even clickable tag reviews too, so others could see what other players think of that person? Automatch has a hard enough time with rankings and regular vetoes. Also the Panzerfusiliers which get at snares right out of the gate and also out scale the Penals by quite a lot. They also have a early 221 which has a supringly good match vs the scout car. There's no way OKW has worse weapon teams. The raktten is super safe and easy to vet now. The MG34 is the 2nd worse MG in the game only 2nd TO THE MAXIM. The maxim you wont really get if you get penals because of backteching. I'm gonna assume the benefit of the doubt that you're talking about the 120mm or the Dshka with weapons team though. I'm gonna have to admit those are better yes. I think he meant that OKW has worse team weapons than OST. He'd have to be pretty delusional to think that the Maxim is better than the MG34. I tried a 120 in a match today that was infantry heavy on Elst. It got no kills in around 30 minutes of playing. It costs about 40% more than a standard mortar, while having a much slower fire rate and the same damage, just over a little bit larger area. It's the worst mortar in the game. In: COH2 Balance

I know that a lot players love the campy 2-3 lane maps where it's very hard to flank effectively and where units like MGs, snipers and elefant are super easy to use. I personally prefer the bigger maps like vaux or moscow where flanking is actually part of the game. Doesn't it depend a little on what faction you're playing? Crossing and Alliance seem better for Axis given the arc of their MG's. Vaux or Moscow require more mobility and a different play style. Vaux or Elst are probably my favorite maps in 2's. I don't like Moscow if I spawn on North, especially on the East side. To OP: There aren't a lot of map makers and it probably takes a long time to make a competitive, balanced map. The map makers are probably a smaller group than the modders and (I think) are volunteers also. In: COH2 Gameplay

If anyone remember the CoH2 beta where every penetrating hit inflicted a mini-crit on the vehicle, that's what Green T-34's were. If the T-34 was hit by another tank, it would disable some part of it. Red Banner T-34-85 would be awesome though, the Soviet faction has no elite armored vehicles. What were Red Banner T34/85's? At this point, all you lose is caches if there are no OST. Except for support weapons, everything OKW seems better. I'd rather have PF's than PG's, and neither of those seem as good as Falls. Having a 60 range stock TD is great, especially with IS2's coming earlier. The skill planes from Overwatch and LGF seem better than CAS, especially if you have one of each and drop them on the same area at the same time. In: COH2 Balance
