on one hand you have blobs like schreck volks/obers. then you have the other extreme: demos... and then there is random shit in between like the B4, planes crashing, pathing........

and how easy blobs are to counter depends a lot on what units/globals you have available. fear artillery and a katy? OKW infantry blob not so much of an issue. playing as USF? much harder. OKH with grens vs riflemen/left-tenant/vehicle early game? eh, fair bit of disparate effort there...

if you infiltrate back far enough you can hide snipers in cover and use them to sight for globals on unattended artillery and other goodies. try not to panic retreat unless you know you have a clear path out. the OKH sniper in particular is often better off hiding and jumping from cover to cover.

also, the OKH sniper becomes visible when jumping fences :\

and on the mine topic, RGs are great for clearing mines, particularly when the engies are building them.

smoke can be used to cover for units that do not have it. you can drive vehicles forwards, pop the smoke for something else, and reverse back. probably won't get hit by anything either as they'll be targeting the other vehicle.

mortar smoke is harder to use as it has a long time before the first shell lands and it has some scatter so fire it as soon as you think you might need it. if you have multiple mortars fire one and then the other when the first is on the second shell.

the OKH smoke run is amazing, particularly on a map edge. call it in from the edge and you'll have a huge, cheap (40 mun) smoke run in 2 or 3 seconds. the angle means it'll usually wall off a large area from the enemy.

I think he was going after the general concept of how much harder it is for Axis to replace tanks. Which I am constantly trying to figure out how that is the case but you do feel it during games. The fuel difference on some tanks compared to Allied is not alot but it still feels harder. While on USF on a strong fuel eco, shermans galore...though said shermans galore still got beat every day of the week and four times on sunday by the AXIS AT I faced (did not say i was good with usf).

they cost more and all factions (except OKW who has it worse) have the same fuel income. even though axis tanks are generally better they're harder to replace because they cost more.

it's always going to feel harder to replace your own tanks as well; that's just psychology.

yeah, i'm just saying they did allow custom decals in dow2 and they worked fine. the only thing that didn't work was custom colours on DLC colour schemes.
