The artillery officer feels pretty lackluster in combat. He can at most be a situational unit unless this is improved.
I don't think this is ideal since I don't think you are really going to use a situational unit if you purchase several ostruppen and use the supply drop, in addition to w/e t1/t2 units you desire.
he does vet up pretty easily with shared exp though.
The Greyhound has a lot of impact for a 280 mp 60 fuel unit. With its ability to quickly amass kills, It can quickly pay for itself. It may be underpriced considering it certainly compares if not exceeds the performance of the t70, stuart, luchs.
Got 4 built vs me in a relatively short game.
In a seperate game at 11 minutes, the greyhound dove my base and basically killed everything, despite several squads with panzerfaust and an AT gun, which was rendered ineffective by the greyhounds manueverability. 3:46:00 in video
Not that i played particularly well ect, but the unit is reaaaaaally good
Something Else to consider with the KV1 is its very low MG damage. It does between 2.3 and 6 dps with its coaxial/rear mg(they are the same). the t34 does between 7.7 and 17 dps with its hull/Coaxial mgs.
A t34 running up to a squad does 34 dps at range 10, a kv1 does 6 dps, this is quite a difference. (ofc the kv1 can shoot behind it to do 6dps as well but 34 to 12 is still massive.)
With lower mobility it is not great vs armor. With limited MG damage it is not great vs infantry.
I don't think the Munitions argument is valid. They just reworked Recon support to have 5 abilities which cost or imply the usage of munitions through upgrades or abilities and I think that's fine, and that doctrine has received a lot of positive feedback. The abilities here do not overlap in function, eg. mines, off maps, infantry upgrades, they can be all used at different phases of the game.
To me storm doctrine does not scream scout car that hunts tanks in the puma. Puma could probably work though. Don't see a balance issue or it being useless, may suffer a bit without smoke though.
Command tank and Artillery are in mechanized
Mortar HT and artillery are in festung support.
Assault grens could actually work but they aren't very good
All of these would create doctrinal overlap, Jaeger officer, artillery officer, Gren ht, mortar ht. Not fit the theme- ostruppen, command tank, puma, elephant(also overlap with jaeger armor). Create balance issues-Tiger, Tiger ace
This leaves pgren halftrack and stormtroopers to me. But since its STORM doctrine, i like stormtroopers.
They are just finalizing the patch now so i suggest this instead of a double sprint and b/c it would be the easiest to get the scope for if it is even possible to add.
Falls seem to have relatively poor vet considering Obers get 40% accuracy and 25% cooldown at vet 2, like many other squads do(Ostheer grens, cons) Falls get 30% accuracy total and only 20% cooldown, with the latter half of the 30 coming at vet 5.
Falls Will get more RE through vet, but they start behind with .83 compared to .7 base. Edit: Falls and obers get -29% in vet
We really wanted to change Vet1 to hull down, but it got scoped out. Thus, we're asking if 160HP is going to be enough for its price.
Part of the reason why you might want to use a KV1 is because it comes on commanders with howitzers and skillplanes.
I would compare it to the churchill. They are very similar in role. The churchill seems to be pretty good, not used a ton but certainly a respectable tank.
The cost difference is 70 manpower, 15 fuel and Anvil tech which is 200 mp 50 fuel. So just look at the stats and see if the KV1 seems like a fair buy in comparison.
Sumnarily the differences are that the Churchill has 440 more HP, 30 less front armor, 20 more rear armor, Slower, Better scatter, better moving accuracy multiplier, Slower reload. Big difference here is the HP pool.
I would suggest 80 more Hp on the kv1. I don't think it will show up much vs t34s in terms of efficiency as presently constituted at 960.
