Thread: Bring back the SdKfz 221 Scout Car14 Aug 2015, 22:49 PM IMO one of the problems with this unit is that ultimately the 221 is just a undergunned version of 222, it doesn't possess anything else that makes 221 some role that is advantageous to 222. That said I think they should have instead given the 221 alternate powers that make you choose between increased AI firepower and utility abilities like camouflage, marking targets, etc. to give the 221 some non-combat roles that support your other units. I mean it was a scout car, not a shredder on wheels. A bit of an OT idea: the scout car could instead come as 2cm, but also can upgrade to use the 2.8 AT heavy rifle for longer-ranged vehicle-oriented roles. In: COH2 Gameplay

What I try not to do is make pull biased claims out of my ass. For example, what are the levels of crush in this game, what levels USF vehicles have and compared with those of other factions? I don't presume Ostheer have better vehicles for crush because I just don't know if that's even true. Another example: USF vehicles have no armour bonuses from veterancy, so at best, they become progressively more powerful glass cannons. Some even have sight range bonuses that trivialize the utility of the M20, which is more or less that scout vehicle. If what you've claimed is true (that Relic stated USF is the faction that utilizes mobility and flanking), then really little of the veterancy bonuses add to that. In: Lobby

There isn't really a "heavy crush" in CoH2. Get your facts straight next time, please, it's hard to take you seriously when you half-heartedly make claims that have high chance of originating out of your ass. You can start by listing what USF vehicles have in terms of crush level, in comparison with Axis units. The last thing this game needs is more bloat that someone came up with entirely through conjecture. In: Lobby

Coming out with MP44s negate them being a unique call-in unit and just being spawnable Panzergrenadiers. IMO Stormtroopers might be better off with G43s as default, and not the JLI sniper version either (though that being an upgrade might be considered a viable alternative upgrade). In: COH2 Balance

Thread: In House Jumbo.11 Aug 2015, 04:07 AM I don't see that as gimping a unit that doesn't presently exist; rather it's balance. If you want firepower you have AT gun and Jackson. The role of Jumbo, regardless of being a discrete unit or just a buffed regular Sherman, should not compete with the roles of other units. That it's the USF's "only heavy unit" doesn't matter either way. A Jumbo is either a durable vehicle, or a durable vehicle that can dish out AT firepower better than regular Sherman. The latter IMO will just have people skip Jacksons and regular Shermans altogether. Such a unit would have no tactical drawbacks that encourage combined arms. Anything that attacks the Jumbo that the latter cannot destroy can always be dealt with by covering Jacksons and AT guns anyways, so this gimping doesn't make the Jumbo useless. It WOULD be useless if that's the only thing you send up against a Jagdtiger, but that is what you call hardcounter, and not flanking. Other abilities can also make up for the Jumbo's lack of integral AT firepower, such as support abilities that allow other tank killers to do their job better. Without any of these ideas put in place, Jumbo is just USF's perfect vehicle. Which USF doesn't need. In: COH2 Gameplay
