This will add more bleed to the unit and make it more difficult to counter its counters. This will also make the emplacement over-all stronger in health to make up for the loss of brace, without making it even more of a pain in the ass. It is also still rewarding to shoot at the mortarpit without killing it, because you get the chance to wipe the veterancy and cause some bleed requiring them to recrew it. Right now you are stuck in a loop of try to kill it, fail, lose a bunch of shit, brits repair and take no losses.
Also make it so Advanced Cancer engineers can't repair the emplacements. They need to be vehicles only repairmen. You don't see the OKW t3 engineers repairing their trucks, because that's ridiculous.

Sounds like you are playing on bad maps if you keep having this problem. You could try changing up your vetoes, AT walls are way more effective on maps where the fighting is close to the base sector.

Osttruppen are amazing against brits. Their few, expensive squads contrasting your many cheap squads lets you take so much of the map control and keep up the harassment. Then you get a sniper and eat them alive.
They are pretty much always going to be travelling in a blob, you need to anticipate where they will be. Always bee screening with infantry when you go in. If you get a good flank off and wipe them he's screwed.

That is still based on the initial value of the squad. 400 MP obers are worth more than 240 MP grens, even though they have the same number of men. You need to be looking at the squad as a whole, not the individual numbers. Individually a grenadier model is more expensive and does more dps at all ranges than a penal model, but making that comparison is highly misleading. Grens are designed to fight larger squads, penals are designed to fight smaller squads. The only way to see a real value is to look at the starting manpower price.
As you have pointed out there is little balance in WFA armies and EFA. A heavy sapper with 3 LMGs (2 V-k 1 bren) is hardly balanced in DPS or as squad cost.
In the end of the you seem to agree with my point. Axis infantry do not have advantage in veting faster for attacking higher value squads.
