Yeah it's a tough game. I am wasting a lot, lot of time improving. Sometimes I see the major mistake, sometimes I don't until I watch the replay.
Case in point I was trying to keep the "building" fuel on Semois, he cut me off, I sent gren to recap instead of staying together to fight off the other cons he had as at least I had a chance of winning with my support unit. So I lost fuel for a bit and basically lost the game even though it went on for 20 mins...
I heard Stephenn say once he just quits once he makes a major mistake, because against good players you can't come back...I'm wondering if I should start doing that just to stop wasting so much time. But the problem then is I will downrank so much that I'll have to go through reams of noobs, who never seem to quit when they've clearly lost.

Thread: This game is retarded4 Nov 2013, 20:33 PM
I probably should have lost this because I was overly aggressive with my PZiV and lost it. But all is not lost because: -Mortars counter snipers -Snipers counter snipers -PAKS counter snipers -Ostheer can backtech and get Paks quickly when they fuck up. This game...man. In: Replays |

If I lose I usually ask what I could have done better...I just played [name deleted] and lost because I couldn't figure out how to get rid of his double snipers. He wouldn't answer any questions except to say "more active." With lots of replays to look at anyway, why are so many "pros" so reticent to help other players? In: Lobby |
Thread: Suggestion: 1v1 wins required to join team games2 Nov 2013, 00:16 AM
I suggest you join one of those 4v4 clans...There are tons. EasyCompany is one of the older COH casual clans. Just play a few games with them before you commit...(wink wink nudge nudge) A good teammate is more important in COH2...I can't just completely dominate my guy the way I did in COH1 random 2v2 and win the game. Just doesn't ever seem to work that way. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: GG, not.1 Nov 2013, 11:48 AM
Ha, kinda with Stoffa on this. If it's someone who's going to kick my ass and whom I want to get advice from on my play, I'm usually quite friendly. And there are people I think just deserve respect. Otherwise totally depends on my mood and whether I can be arsed to stop shift-clicking and zooming in on my units to admire their wonderful hats. It's surprising the number of good players who are basically jerks though and just mock your lack of skill rather than trying to help. In any competitive game, I guess it's to be expected. There are always people who enjoy feeling superior when they know how to do something their opponent doesn't, probably because they have an inferiority complex. So really - WHATEVER. If someone actually asks me what they did wrong, I tell them, and I'm surprised more people don't ask. In: Lobby |

Let's see how far back up the ladder I can get with this crap. It's really, really fun. I was cracking up basically all game. In: Replays |
Thread: Dear Relic: please include chat in replays31 Oct 2013, 23:27 PM
+1 Nothing was ever more satisfying in COH1 than opening up the replay after playing a hard-won 2v2 and getting to see the whining, moaning and rage in chat. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Shocked at how easy Germans are.31 Oct 2013, 23:25 PM
Er, what? Seems to me that means everyone else needs to step up their game. I don't find the RNG that bothersome, except when it's a really game-changing situation, like a tank missing a halftrack 5x in a row and that sort of thing. More bothersome to me are abilities that are truly overpowered, mostly abilities that can wipe units on retreat (like the Soviet strafe or the Panzerwurfer barrage). If the player has already microed out of it by retreating, it's simply not fair for them to see their squad wiped. Other stuff like flamenwurfers/scout cars chasing down squads are fair to me, as the player chasing is putting his unit at risk going deep into enemy territory... In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Semoiskiy =/= Semois31 Oct 2013, 23:14 PM
Well, nostalgia aside, strong buildings are an essential part of warfare, and a nice stone house ought to be better than a wood shack. The problem with COH2 is we have no stone houses. The only differentiation in destructibility is the size, and there's still too much RNG. Rifle nade=demolished church on occasion. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Semoiskiy =/= Semois31 Oct 2013, 20:23 PM
Yeah I veto summer Sem too...Once they fix buildings, it might not be so bad. Those key buildings are kind of an essential bit of COH though. The heartbreak and sorrow that is the Angoville south building is legendary. In: COH2 Gameplay |
