yeah ive noticed it being useless late game vs heavy armor but you need some armor to deal with obers since this doc doesnt give you any LMGs, plus if you have taken out FLak Hq at 12-13 min mark( with Rfile flare+ AT gun/jackson) he wont get panther he will definitely save fuel and go for KT and spam Obers + Volk shrecks every where. ( this stage is hard i get 1 or 2 HMGs but still its MP drain from then on)
skipping E8 for normal sherman is also good so you can atleast prevent your MP drain a lil. without P47s its hard to deal with KT against good players.
You will never regret spending 20$ on the BAR upgrade. Trust me. It destroys obers for as long as you're not moving although they can be hard to kill. I needed 2 BARs to kill one squad. This ammo can be accumulated easily if you avoid throwing too many grenades ( which is hard for me to stop ) ;
my fav method is rifle flare(elite rifle man doc)+ at gun or a single jackson is enough.. make sure you have HMG covering it and drop wp barrage if he blobs at you remember at 8 min mark you need to scout this thing out. if its behind shot blocker dont risk an assault if its aggressively placed punish it as quickly as possible.
if you are successful you will still have to deal with a 26/28 min King Tiger so if you went elite rifle man dont get more than 1 E8, tech up to Major and get 2-3 Jacksons ready.
To provide a small alternative to what ImSkemo said, I would skip the E8 if I went rifle company. That fuel can be used on another M36 that scares tanks away. You only need 4 shots to kill a non vet 2 panther. If the shots penetrate it's really scary for them.
Microing three or more squads vs a equal force
-1 You don't have all that time to pay attention to that a little model on his knee
-2 if the grenadier squad is in range of your 3 squads, you don't really know which one is targeted.
Do a quick scan of the whole fighting area. With this, I've been able to look for anybody who's planning to throw grenades.
there is a difference between sending rifleman to flank into their fuel than sending a fast ass kubelwagon that can get there quickly and out very fast though
if i rush into their fuel they can rush back their kubel wagon back to their fuel and in addition to the kubelwagon having the first attack since they know you are taking the fuel
And you can take back your own fuel allowing you to rush an M20. Oh yes, it's not riflemen that go to his fuel. It's just the Rear Echelon (RE troops). If you don't fancy sending your RE troops somewhere else then you can use them to cheat a bit.

I did this once and the kubel was wrecked before he could actually get out the way. The tank traps will mess up the driver i.e. the messy pathfinding is messed up even further when you place the tank traps behind the kubel.
Btw, if the pios are repairing, shoot them instead of the car. If you send them away then he's not gonna repair anything unless his kubel follows them back to base which pretty much gives you time to get LT and an M20.
And this is why USF has to rely on overwhelming force. They simply can't counter anything directly AND reliably. As such they have to just win by sheer overwhelming force. Anything else is kind of a loss for USF.
Yet, riflemen are so expensive at 280mp. It's really hard to get enough men to actually fight the war.

I don't get an ambulance so early. I see it as a waste of fuel early game because volksgrenadier can't defeat riflemen easily. It's a very equal fight if both in the same kind of cover (yellow,green..), don't know why it's equal though considering that there's 45 mp difference. So anyway, I see early ambulance is a waste. You're better off going for the M20 (which also has the mine that one shots puma) to kill the kubel. AAHT is kinda a waste since it's so expensive unless your opponent has got 5 squads of infantry or more attacking the same place.
The kubel is really easy to be countered with riflemen. Remember if he can't find targets for his kubel, he can't get vet. If you just kill it with the M20 a bit later, then he just wasted 5 fuel and some manpower that could have been spent on more squads. Also, if he goes for your fuel, send your RE around the map take his cutoff or his fuel. I noticed that a lot of players panic when they get their fuel attacked and start performing rash actions.
Avoid it is one way. Get as many territories as possible if you can't get the fuel point. I can't gain vet if it can't find any riflemen. After that, rush for an M20 to kill it quick. I go this build
