People are claiming the ISG to be some god gun, it is not. It is very RNG dependent, I've tried 2 before and they were set up forward enough to cover past the "front line" by the end I think one had about 18 kills and the other around 8. Like all Indirect fire weapons such as mortars they are RNG heavy, altho I feel mortars still perform better as you can get them closer at very little risk for a much higher reward.
ISG's pretty much have to hit dead on to deal damage, they (Feel at least) to have a lot less splash than mortars.
ISG's will usually get 1 model if it hits, very rarely does it get 2 or higher. I see mortars regularly either take 2-3 models or spread out a fair amount of damage among a squad from splash.
Please try using things for more than 1 game where they get good RNG. Try them for at least 20-30 games and look at the average performance.
They also got their arcing and UnitAI Messed with since the Alpha, it feels as if they scatter a lot more now too. The Arcing seems to of been fixed as of the most recent patch but other than that.
Also don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is bad, I'm just saying it's unreliable, especially with the lack of Suppression Okw have. |
RNG was just kind to me that game, It could quite easily of seen the Panther die very fast or fail to hit/penetrate.
Panther is weird like that, sadly most other "Mediums" Out class the Panther right now and it's mobility is very map dependent.
But I do feel the SU85 could maybe do with a small buff to penetration.
Do remember however the SU85 is not ment to come in to a fight with other tanks, it is ment to poke at them from afar and retreat behind the lines when comes under pressure.
I think everyone has just become too used to the killing power of Jackson's, KT's and Jagdtigers.
At gun's aren't bad either.
Just because a tank doesn't 2/3 shot things does not mean it is a bad tank, just means it's more of a slugging match. The best use of an SU85 is to force or put a timer on an engagement, they either attack with a weakened tank, stay in the fight and tank damage, or push their tank out of the fight and then push in to where ever it is you are attacking. |
Just want to point out, when Germans asked for T4 buffs, Allies complain it's fine, so, hey Soviets, T4 is fine, deal with it.
I joke, I joke, I actually managed to take on 2 SU85 with a Okw Panther, get one low and then managed to get it in an abandoned state and get out with the Panther, this was mainly due to some insane RNG and Panther bouncing 1 in every 2 shots and hitting and penetrating with its own, I also want to point out it was at Max range Frontal armour engagement on both, I also had both the 4% Armour increase and 5% reload bulletins on, It may only be a tiny increase to both but it certainly helps the Panther.
So SU85 could do with maybe small buffs. Maybe penetration but it's damage shouldn't really get an increase. |
I love it when my ally writes their name in sandbags. It's not like there's a report button... so why the fuck not.
Pretty sure if you screen shot it, ppl teamkilling/doing nothing/racism, etc. and send it to enforcement@relic.com (At least I think that is the E-mail) they have done things about it in the past such as removing a players access to the game for a few weeks. |
I honestly don't even know how these bugs got in to the game, IIRC They have never been present in VCoH2 and again not in the WFA Alpha either.
Maybe problems at Relic putting too many ideas/too many different builds together? |
I just had a insane case of good Panther RNG. Okw Panther, taking on 2 SU85's kills one, gets out. Frontal engagement by both SU's and Panther.
Then it came back later to kill the other SU and 2 out of 3 Katyushas xD
Saying that I am using the 4% Armour and 5% Reload bulletins, I know it's barely anything but they really do help the Panther.
And then the next game 1 Jackson beat 1 Panther, was blizzard so they both got first shot roughly the same time. |
Pretty sure I reported these bugs in the Alpha too, IIRC We only got access to the "Rare" Commanders for a week or two so bugs with their doctrines will of slipped through. |
Cry. No, xD. Try a Luchs, they work great vs Infantry, if he has fitted them all with BAR's or 30 cal (if vs Infantry Doct) they literally can't scratch it.
That or try a Stuka, altho he can just hit retreat if he hears it then come back 20 seconds later while you have to wait 90 seconds for the stuka to reload.
Sturmtiger's can also work.
Didn't want the replay, but I assume you tried Obers? If not, get obers, the earlier the better you really want some Vet on them before late game. |
Good idea Han's I like it, I don't know why Relic haven't done it but there are a lot of things they "should" do like customizable hotkeys, fixing game optimization, actually Improving vehicle pathing and collision, etc. |
