ESL had high hopes for the game, they thought it looked good and had the potential to have a thriving competitive scene. Alas the CoH 2 community didn't bother to show up so the section isn't there any more. If you're upset about it not being there any more then you only have yourselves to blame. I quit CoH2 for two reasons; the first reason is that the community in my opinion don't want much more than a nice auto matcher and an in-game ladder. That's perfectly fine but I want to do more than that so I'm going to put my efforts to use in a scene that has more ambition. The second reason is because of Relic and the way they go about things. I really do not understand the level of bureaucracy they employ for such a tiny studio. To even get a re-tweet approved for a community event you have to go through several layers of management, most of the time you wont get that promotion. I asked in August about an interview about the ESL partnership. Just to outline what their hopes are, why they are doing it etc. to get an extra layer of promotion for the announcement instead of people having to trawl through twitch archives. I didn't get a response till late September with simply "Don't want to talk about it." In: Lobby

Despite having lists and lists of staff, Ami had to run most of SNF5 on his own, the same will happen with any other big series and thus will get pretty pissed off. It was so hard for him to get co-casters on the day, he had to do most of the art and a lot of the bracket running on the day. Lastly Ami doesn't have me, I'm done with the game. In: Lobby

The player base at large genuinely does not want to take part in competitive events and that's fair enough. The game caters do loads of different people. What I get annoyed at is the people talking about how they want competition when in actuality they want a nice in game ladder and what they consider a fair game online once a day or once a week even. You could do the same program on coh2.org and it would be the same thing happening with low turnout after week one and I can bet that Ami would have to run the whole deal on his own and he's gonna be pissed off. There was at most one match per month played on the ladders and tournaments usually had about a 50% no show rate. I also ran the section on my own, doing all the promotional work, making the tournaments and being the only person there on the day to sort everything out. It was really draining and I got a lot more grief than I wanted because of it, especially with the really low turnout numbers. The partnership Relic mentioned at gamescom, well only Relic know the full details about it. We just know they want to start a Go4 series but have been bumbling about with whatever they think they need to do before it can be started. I personally think it's a big waste of money. The ESL section was barely used, it's not going to get much more use with some prize money involved. The first week will be really busy but after that the activity is going to nose dive. TL: DR Only a tiny proportion of the player base care about competitive play and developer doesn't really care for it. They are just doing this partnership because apparently it's the cool thing to do now a days. In: Lobby

Relic do a good job when afforded time to resolve balance issues in the game. Unfortunately with AA they haven't dedicated much time to it." Now since October to now what balance changes made it in to live? The ISU and Jagdtiger changes as far as I'm aware. It's blatant that Ardennes Assault development severely impacted the time dedicated to improving multiplayer. So please tell me and more importantly tell everyone else what incomplete information I have on the point because so far there's been nothing to show. Playing the "if you only knew" card shows utter contempt for your fanbase. I totally understand you can't tell us everything you're doing but when someone pegs that something isn't right don't play that card, be honest and open about the issue. I saw Quinn make a post about side armour being implemented and it being a slim chance that it would be done. Disappointing answer for sure but at least we know where we stand on the matter and it was a breath of fresh air over the usual "we're excited about we have in store" shtick. In: Lobby
