Commandos Should Not Have Brens

Commandos already have ridiculous reduced received accuracy and they come in a 5 man squad in a commander that has a flame Churchill. They should not be able to do long range DPS with brens, cloak, and toss nades. With vet they can shoot an MG to death suppressed. What?

Commandos are the single squad with absolutely WORST scaling in game.

+25% accuracy is the ONLY combat bonus they get through vet.

That is incorrect (but would still be misleading even if true, since they perform above their cost at vet 0.)

"Combat" vet bonuses
Vet 2 accuracy bonus is +30%
Vet 3 0.9 received accuracy

In addition they get self-healing at vet 1 an ability with higher vet requirement for other infantry.

Coming in a Churchill Crocodile doctrine isn't an advantage these days given how bad that unit is.

Commandos can't cloak or toss nades? For such an expensive unit all u get is some sturdy men with stens? Raw deal. L2P original poster.

So overs and lmg paras should be nerfed too? Both these units have better DPS vet 0 and much better combat use at vet 3 and 5.

Commandos are good for their cqb and grenade wipes hiding in cover. Not so much their okay bren DPS that you need to pay fuel and mp to tech for.

Commando with Brens are fine, they are nowhere near "OP" considering their cost and squishiness.

I never understood why anyone voluntarily puts brens on them in the first place. It side-grades them into a role in which they arent cost-effective at all.
Better just use them for sneaking and counterin support weapons and wipin lone squads

Sneaking around isnt always viable in late game when you need squads on frontlines to cap stuff. Besides without brens they cant do anything other than wipe support weapons in late game.
Would you rather have deadweight squad that does nothing in combat or you spend 90 mun to get pseudo infantry section with better HE nade and smoke/stealth

Commandos bren are superior to normal brens and can be fired on the move.

1 bren allows commandos to do more damage to retreating squad, 2 brens gives them high damage at all range. In addition far DPS does not decrease as model drop since sten contribute very little to damage.

You can cap and camp capzones with commandos, especially with all the yellow cover pock marking the map with shellholes lategame.

But lategame the only way you're gonna outgun vet obers is a sneaky grenade and sten wipe. Not by trying to fight long distance lmg battles. So better off putting the MP and muni sink brens are into gammon bomb attacks for the wipes.
