They're in a good spot, if anything it's their high manpower cost that makes them an unsuitable altnerative to just using Penals.

I'd also go for a sprint/ Urrah! ability, but besides balance, Shocks are found in Counterattack Tactics which feature the Motherland ability which does the same thing. They also have smoke grenades to avoid suppression.

I dont think buffing an OK unit to the levels of better units (Penals or Guards) is a wise idea

they need an ability like oora but instead of giving speed they cant be suppressed and takes a lil less dmg

Shocks are fine (except shit grenade). They are like every unit should be, I mean they require micro to be efficient, they are not like LMG blob, or Commandos with camo wiping stuff out of nowhere.

All infantry units should be like them - intensive micro to become efficient.

Pfaust would be thematically, ShISBr were known for using captured Pfausts in large scale, but it could cause balance problems be awesome.

Shocks are the valentine of the Soviets. Waste of MP on a unit that does one thing and doesn't even do it efficiently. Shocks either

A attack and get suppressed.
or
B Charge and get shot.

Penals also outdps Shocks unless they are face to face, but then A or B happens and Shocks get wasted.

There are of course niches and hiding tatitcs you could do with them, but in my view the opportunity cost of losing the messiahs of the soviets, Guards, is way to high to justify using Shocks for anything besides fun.

I don't believe shocks need any changes-buff or nerf.

Vet1 could be changed, but that is general problem of all sov and ost infantry.

Shocks do fine in infantry battles. The issue is that they get dominated by light vehicles which are the biggest force in the game currently.

If okw goes medics instead of mechanised that is a good chance to use them.
