Typical l2p issue. The reputation of The Tiger is so good, propaganda did a good job xD

I often saw many players going for a single Tiger as their last trump card. Me: "Were is your at?" Tigerfan: "I am saving for a tiger / Tiger soon".

Tiger spawn, Tiger dead after 2 Min for obvious reasons. Game Over.

For rational reasons i overcame the tiger bias in my mindset and prefer always the panther (it kills tanks far better). If you dont have a proper army around the panther/tiger (pak40s, p.schreck) then you lost the game because of other reasons, no need to go the forum for a single unit.

Yeah people think tigers should be good no matter the situation. Tigers do best when your opponents don't have a lot of AT or when they overinvest in things like bazookas and medium tanks.

But most allied players don't do that because any decent allied player is used to their opponents going for tigers 90% of the time. Preparing for tigers is pretty much the first thing you have to learn when getting used to allied factions and once you reach mid level play tigers start to lose their effect as most opponents expect it.

That's why the most effective strats are ones that take advantage of players expecting heavy armor, by instead using stuff like, stugs, P4s, and pumas.

I think Tiger build cost should be cheaper to represent the lesser stats (durability,speed etc) than the currently same costing(but better stats) IS-2.

But currently you build Tiger for FUN not to win a competitive game, so who cares.:mellow:

Cool, I suppose we're nerfing the gun penetration, reload, range and accuracy too, so the stats are actually lesser, right?

Lets also lower Pershing cost to panther level, because of lesser durability too for the same 230 fuel. :snfBarton:

strange.. coz now the tiger is limited to 1 so #cantspam and opels are usefull to 1 player so not really usefull for teamgames and there is new faction around with a #NonDocMegaPak43 aka 17punder AND there are powerfull allied tank destroyers now.

now.. im not up for buffing the tiger but i think ostheer repair capablities need to be on par with other wfa+ factions

LOL 2013 tigerspam. They were so bad back then that one con squad could run circles around one untill they cant throw enought at grenades to destroy it. Not to mention su85s which could outreverse panthers with blitz.

Also tiger is really bad tank ATM, its armor weak and makes it suceptable to RNG death, cost also too hight. Not to mention it cant be used as spearhead at all, 2nd line supporting unit is best you can get out of tiger nowadays.

Lol, would choose a no-fuel-low-pop-shoot-through-obstacles-PAK43 alway over a 17pounder. Didn't we had this argument more than one time and didn't most players agreed to 17pounder beeing up in its current form? Hell, there are enough maps where it is hard enough to find an efficient spot where it fits actually.

Would do with a fuel increase cost, with 20% ROF in its main gun, and a better mg dmg profile, turn it into a offensive specialist tank, designed to hit hard and fast in weak points, while leaving it counterable with rushes and dedicated AT.

Win - Win.

Compare it to what you will, i think it wouldnt be bad to update the unit into a more.. niche place, in the hands of an experienced Ostheer, it will punish badly prepared enemies hard, while at the same time pose more of a hit when lost to competent counter-play on the allied part.

With this you add a more defined risk/reward to the unit and reward correct usage in the same way you reward correct counterplay.

I was one of the first to use the Tiger when they finished "balancing" it at the end of public beta in 2013. 3 Tiger spearhead on Steppes. All got engine + main gun destroy crit when all T34s rammed it. Good times.

Now it seems to be a damage soak, doing only mediocre damage, but gets nice range bonus with vet.

Interesting how perceptions differ. In my opinion the damage output should in no way get up. It can twoshot most squads on a regular basis. No need to increase its rate of fire. Neither do I agree on the damage soak part. Whenever I try to tank with it I lose it. You mustn´t expose your Tiger for more than two shots. Then you back up to have it repaired for minutes.

Last I saw, the Tiger has a slightly lower armour rating than the Panther, but the Tiger does have a good chunk of health; it takes 7 regular penetrating shots to kill the Tiger (1040 HP) so I see it as a "damage soak." Its gun is fine, but does regular 160 damage. However, nothing (not even KT) can sustain focused AT fire very long.
