I would provide the replay but I am currently having an issue w/ occasional, erroneous "invalid version" claims so I don't know if it would work.
I just played a game in which I recrewed a maxim with a ppsh con squad and the result was a white ppsh icon underneath the maxim icon. They still had the maxim and would cart it around like normal but I couldn't see an arch. I also think it fired an burst from the maxim once but I cannot confirm because I cant watch the replay.

Its an old bug, if you also merge a ppsh squad with other unit and lose in that action the conscript squad the reinforced unit will get ppsh

Well, I know that if you merge with a unit that absorbs the entire Conscript squad, they'll gain all 3 PPSh's (even if it was 1 Con left with 1 PPsh), but last I checked this did not apply to crewed team weapons.
