Why no MG Upgrade for the Pershing?

Not a complaint, just wondering as to the reasoning behind it considering even the expensive US .50 cal pintle mounted MG's don't do much.

The idea I believe is that the pershing has good enough AI with its main cannon, and that the vet 2 ability makes use of the hatch to throw grenades.

Because the Pershing didn't have a turret MG. The closest it had was a rear-mounted M2, but this required the TC to stand on the engine bay to use. Obviously the turret can not turn while this MG is being used.
