The last couple of games I've gone up against a P4 and it now pretty much wipes squads left and right. Is this just a new paradigm with tanks? Or is the P4 just stupidly powerful against infantry?

P4 is same as before...
Bad RNG for you, it can happen that in two-three shots kills 4-5 model per shot.

P4 was like this before the patch. Sometimes it can wipe a squad. 360 no scope pretty much.

The P4 was always wiping squads efficiently, but before the patch the only place to see that was comp-stomp, because players never used them. I was always affraid facing an enemy that will spam P4 all day, and now it has finally come true. The sad part is that it was "forced" on players to buy P4, becuase no more double tigers. The P4 was always that good.

Seriously? My Panzer IV's never hit anything. Mostly their MG's do all the work while their main cannon misses infantry as much as a panther does.

I usually get a couple in teamgames. They work well as a flanking force, harassing the enemies side. Yeah they wipe some times. Not always but it isnt uncommon. Run around the enemy to get them to bunch up and youll get even the massive soviet squads on a round or two with some consitency.
P4s are in a good spot for its value and the amount of units you can field.
sure it isn¨t great but used as a flanking/skirmishing way and they are worth the cost.

So does Sherman, only the poor t34/76 doesn't insta-wipe like that, and even with bad RNG they might too. Pray to the RNG gods.

Yeah, it sums it pretty right, p4 is and always was a wiping machine but sherman and 85s are even better.

When a P4 wipes a squad, it simply has to do with the soldiers being all clumped up together. If they would spread out the formations more this would be fixed out of cover.

The P4 wipes more squads than models so far. Its a very good tank and its extra MGs increase the light damage to the squad.
When the cannon fires since the squad is already at low health from the mg it ends up loosing loads of models. The t-34/76 squad wiping on avg is RNG and the Sherman requires HE switch as well as attack ground or hard RNG.

No changes. It most often happens when your units are in front of a shot blocker or in a straight line. I have had sherman AT rounds do the same thing.

Permanently BannedLol how is the p4 any different from other medium tanks? Its scatter and AOE combined with larger allied squads shows that there should be no issues in regard to wiping. Sherman HE > P4 as wiping. As long as this stands. P4 wiping squads becomes L2P and bad RNG when it happens.

If there are corners that infantry are moving around, yeah any ballistic weapon has a chance to wipe even multiple squads.
It is the same reason vehicles insist on driving directly into a movement blocking object and slowly pivot 3+ times around it. Pathing has trouble with corners.

Sherman with HE round that is crushing with infantry will squadwipe even more ofen , because even if he doesn´t crush infantry it will clumb them and then his shot will kill them all at once, thanks to pathing.
You can do this even with blitz panzer 4 , hovever it is not so good because Piv tends to miss infantry while moving more than sherman
