With new content on the horizon, one wonders what it can be. *cough*British*cough* ;) Will we see OKW get some new commanders that might include some sort of traditional heavy artillery? Maybe the Hummel makes a reappearance to the series? What do you guys think? Thoughts and opinions?

I have said before, once OKW gets all 3 trucks it should get some kind of on map buildable (or a special 4th Truck/HQ Truck should convert) to some kind of artillery piece.

Creeping barrage walking stuka isn't enough?

Or do you mean one that reliably destroys tanks as well as it wipes squads like the Soviets (kind of) have?

Because OKW non-doctrinal late game firepower isn't high enough already.

Stuka is not as reliable as other On the map options, it is much easier to dodge as it is always in a direct line, hell even on the line if it scatters bad it can miss on its own, even if aimed correctly. - Don't bring the incendi barrage in to it, very rarely do you get it in a game unless you kill some Scott's or a Jackson or two.

The Katy and Werfer usually hit something with at least one rocket, and their scatter is actually good for them.

OKW has the worst Anti-blob options in the entire game. Their best Options are Sturmtiger/Stuka which are very easy to bait and dodge, or the King Tiger.

Other mentions are Flak track and Luchs, but these cannot be used late game as they die to a stiff breeze.

Heavy arty should be doctrine locked for OKW.

It isn't. You need to be deaf blind to not be able to dodge it. It always hits in a predictable fashion every time, no RNG involved.

If you're sitting with a group of units and you hear it, it's pretty easy to guess where it's going to impact.

You've never set it to fire in a predictive fashion to catch your opponent trying to dodge?

You determine if it goes from left to right, front to rear, etc, and your opponent has no way of knowing which direction is hitting first. It's not like you can only set it to fire on top of territory points or something. Also, there's not exactly warning flares to signal where exactly it's taking place either.

There's a great deal of variety and choice in how you aim your werfer barrage. I mean, just the creeping barrage alone gives it more versatility than the ostheer wefer.

Definitely not. They're already packing some pretty serious turtle power with the medic and flack truck. Giving them heavy arty would mean that you could be successful while barely leaving your base. Besides, history counts for something here, and German Arty was far inferior to its American counterpart in the Ardennes.

Just ignore this kaiof guy, he's doing everything he can to defend the allies and nerf the axis. Probably the biggest ally fanboi out there. Just don't mind him

The Stuka zu Fuss is a support weapon counter machine, it's to get rid of buildings, maxims, mortars, and AT guns.

Noobs get kicked by it hard because they don't move when they should, and then they lose their entire army, and then they whine. The Stuka is borderline useless versus good players.

EDIT: On topic an artillery piece would go a long way towards shaving off the MP float.

And why is a normal artillery piece better vs good players? They can also do a casual command move to the right according to your logic.

Because it's firing multiple shells hitting a circular area that's hard to predict. It's not hard at all to predict the firing path of a Stuka barrage, what IS hard is predicting the RNG path of Kat rockets or ML-20/B4 shells.

The stuka's pin point accuracy is it's greatest strength, and it's greatest weakness.

Hummel would be nice because it would provide better less predictable artillery support, something that is less easily avoidable. Draw back for the Hummel would be it is slow as hell and can't escape from an allied rush easily.

I voted yes but think it should be doctrinal. It kind of goes against the design of the faction so I'd be surprised to see it.
