I normally go RE/Rifle/AssE./Rifle/Ass.E, then Lieutenant, then M20 into .50 cals into Wolverines and finally into Bulldozers.
The squad wiping potential and versatility is incredible, favorite doc in game by far.
Anybody have any alternative strategies for this commander?

I've had a lot of fun in 1v1s going AE - RE - 2x AE - Captain - AT gun as necessary - Major w M8s and Jacksons
It's a lot of fun to have the killing power of 3 AEs on the field at once, and a lot of players just aren't used to it. You've got to get lucky with your demos, and you're vulnerable to Obers until you can start getting those M8s out, but the timing generally works out and it's lots of fun to play.

The key with winning with this company is democharges.
The assault engineer democharges have *ALOT* more AOE than the soviet ones, making them much better in getting reliable squadwipes.
I would say this doctrine is actually the second one in terms of strenght in 1v1, behind airborne.

I see their viability in 1v1 against the OKW only, they aren't very useful against the Wehr. A wolverine rush is the main thing to use to end the game quickly, which no other doctrine offers. 
My build:
3xRifles (duh)
1xAE(upgrade flame ASAP)
Med truck(skip if kubel is issue)
Lieut
m20
Gotta outplay the Kubel early, but should be easy if you get the jump on with the AE and the flame thrower.
After that it is pretty straight forward.
