There's a lot talk about how relic messed this up and why isn't coh2 more like vcoh in this way etc etc ...

But let's all be thankful for a minute that the bloody Goliath didn't make it into coh2! That thing was the biggest piece of garbage to ever hit a video game.

In case that was directed at me let me clarify ... I wasn't saying it was useless. Quite the contrary! I played mostly allied and can't count the number of squads I lost to goliaths in the most rediculous ways.

I always found goliaths to be extremely balanced. Punished blobbers heavily. Also for 125 munitions if it doesn't have the potential to wipe a squad it would be worthless.

The main issue I had with them was the extreme dominance it had on bridge maps. Buildngoliath --> park on extreme edge of bridge --> cloak --> profit. Because theres no way to prevent the inevidble outcome lol

You have your issues mixed up.

Hint: It's the bridge maps.

they added depth/fun to the game, not a lot of people actually used them but still you had the option. Coh2 is a borefest with very few options.

Goliaths were pretty rarely used in vCoH, and they produced some of the most exciting moments in competitive play.

They also produced some of the most bullshit moments as well when 3 riflesquads fail to hit a goliath moving towards them and all get wiped.

If you had three riflesquads grouped up close enough to all die to a goliath as it was driving toward you and you were shooting at it, I'd hazard to guess it was your own damn fault. That's like running three squads straight into an MG and then bitching about how bullshit MGs are. They're only bullshit if you don't know how to handle them.

Goliaths were slow and did barely anything to retreating infantry. All you had to do was pay attention enough to split your squads and retreat the one the goliath chased while focusing it with the others.
