CoH3 Unit Number Assignment: Seeking Assistance

When playing Company of Heroes 3, it is possible to assign a number to a selected unit by pressing CTRL+Number.

Let's say that a group of units has been selected and assigned the number 1. If an additional number (such as 2) is mistakenly assigned to these units, the assigned numbers will show up as "1,2".

Is there a way to remove the second number assignment? And how to clear all assigned numbers for a unit? Can someone provide guidance on how to accomplish this?

hey mate, I am simply reassigning the number i dont want the unit to have to another unit.

Thus if my Grens are 1 and 2, I simply assign 2 to my Pios. the Grens will than be only 1.

Dont know a way to "erase" assignments though, just overwrite.

Hope this helps.

Yea. Hold Ctrl+Shift, then press the number of the control group you want to remove the selected units from.

The whole idea of the system was to allow for more advanced control group usage, but they could have done a better job of explaining the basics.

Ctrl + Shift as stated above will remove all units from said control group, which I dislike entirely. It doesn't pose a problem if you're only removing 1 unit from it though.

Honestly the whole control group scheme feels so rigid.
