Sexton firing bug

If you stop the fire order before the sexton has even fired its first shot, even whilst it is preparing the shell it will start the cool down. I don't know if this is the same for the priest etc but for land mattress and the likes, you can cancel before firing and so long as nothing gets launched, the ability remains ready to fire.

It's a common bug, also with mortars, although the cooldown gets shortened a lot. I am fairly sure other e.g. eocket arty has it too.
I agree though. It is super annoying, especially since the CD is quite long.

It's cost me a game with a pit that really needed to die (to an LeFH), but the only thing you can do is just let them fire, no matter how bad the new target situation is. Maybe the enemy will wander something into the fire zone, who knows.
EDIT: This bug has been brought up before (including by yours truly), but I think there just were too many other more pressing issues to deal with previously.

You're absolutely right. What I meant is that there are two types:
1. Full CD after interruption (Sexton, but I believe also some or all rocket arty)
2. Short CD (mortars). Annoyingly, this is still long enough that you can't just wait for the CD to pass and reorder the barrage

I think the thing with the cooldown is that the cooldown was changed to begin at the end of the final shot. Since it takes like 15 seconds to fire off the 6 rounds, your cooldown doesn't start until then. So if you don't fire off the 6 rounds, your cooldown begins earlier, but it's still like 90 seconds or whatever.
