They just last too long, it makes arty easier too hit. I cannot reposition until 35s later.
The recon planes are fairer because they dont linger in the area
It breaks the whole true sight and scouting mechanics.
Coming from 2v2, i guess in 1v1 is even worse map hack

you dont, flares have been fun (others would probably call them a pain in the ass) since they have been introduced to the game
good thing they are mostly bound to (almost) dead commanders and soviets

ukf meta has drop flare
ost tiger ace have drop flare
sov have drop flare and the mortar can attack immediately after drop flare
i think only command panther drop flare is dead.

USF: Advanced Infantry Equipment (dead)
OKW: artillery flares (dead), panzerfusiliers (meta), early warning (almost dead)
Soviet: everything
OKWs artillery flare is the real pain since it can be called in everywhere

Pretty sure Rifle Company is mildly meta these days, so some flares on USF infantry. But yea, infantry/mortar/emplacement flares are a BIG difference from off-map flares, and unit-based flares can have their range tuned accordingly.
