The Field Recovery Operation squad is quite bugged.

1) UI: when you mouse over the icon before 1CP, the UI says "Requires: 3 Command Point"



2) Salvage does not work on decrewed team weapons, nor team weapon wrecks, nor destroyed OKW forward bases.
3) Salvage does not provide bonus resources to the player. You can see "+0" munitions and fuel signs popping up over the squad as they salvage the wreck.

Regarding 3, wasn't salvage hard-nerfed to provide set amount of resources?

The floating text is a leftover from when it was really good ability.

I watched my resources and counted how much I was getting over 10 sec. The Salvage ability doesn't give me any extra.

Its supposed to give a set value(values for specific unit wreckeges in the patch notes) at breaking the wreck, nothing additional over the duration.

No, that's how it used to work, therefore the 0 floating text.

Just a tick at the end of the ability/destroying the wreck.

It pretty much works as OKW salvage with leftover, misleading and confusing floating texts on salvaging.

Tested, OKW salvage gives fixed amount while Recovery Sapper gives resources over time. It seems to work, but issues #1 and #2 stand.

Just tested salvage with recovery sappers in the winter mod, and the ability works despite the number popping up displaying otherwise. If you watch the resource closely, you can see the number increase a bit faster than normal periodically.

It is quite strange as to why you cannot salvage abandoned at/mg gun though. Not sure if this is intended or simply an oversight.

Whatever the fuel/mu value, OKW salvage does work on abandoned weapons, and this discrepancy is the part that is confusing.

The abilities is different.

OKW gives set amount of resources for any wreck. Recovery sappers get FU/MU according to class of the wreck.

That's not how it works. Because you can salvage the destroyed weapon.

There's several problems with how it was implemented.


1- You can not salvage abandoned units. This includes vehicles. Therefore you will never get resources out of MGs or Mortars.

2- Teamweapons such as AT guns do leave a wreck, therefore you can salvage them. They give small amount of fuel/muni.
ISG/Pack Howie gives mp.

3- You can't salvage certain bigger support weapons.
You can do so with Soviet Howitzer, but not with B4.
You can't with LeFH, but you can with Pak43 (both OKW and OH).

4- Values were normalised, but you will never get those values out of it. All wrecks start with 50% HP when a unit is killed.

5- While the LeFH is not able to be harvested, it's the one the exception at been at full health.

6- KT is considered a super heavy.

I was talking about the weapons and not the remains of weapons.
