I dont see how anything can be more fragile than the vCoH motorcycle, one squad of riflemen were all that was needed to kill it. At least with suppression, you can keep your attackers from shooting. |
It looks like non-doctrinally, Kubel + Volksgrens is going to be essential. Kubel spam? hah
Its a car, not even an armored car. Enough small arms in cover seems to be a simple counter. Soviets have oorah and AT nades, or tier 2 AT gun (kubel easily loses to m3). Americans can just shoot a smoke grenade at it and it wont be able to shoot.
If kubels still cost only 240 mp, then you can try. At least you can get some fuel from the wreckages. |
Yes, i know its a mix of new recruits with veterans of other divisions, suh as the luftwaffe, or soldiers from other fronts. |
That is a well known nickname, same case as US "Pineapple".
BTW, Volks is quite shitty without vet, unlike vCOH1 they can stand against Rifles while in good cover, they cannot 1v1 and win anything (except US engi & Commie engi) even in the best cover, but they becomes more beast after vetted.
Therefore, they are best used with Sturmpio, Kubel, MG34/MG42, Gren, etc, covering their ass, farming their exp, then they can do something.
Even conscripts? But having 5 models technically means it lives longer than normal grens?
But its rather fair with volks - they are a mix of trained and untrained soldiers - at no vet they arent really good, but they improve greatly as they vet. |
Stielhandgranate! Yes! Finally!
Ikr? An actual grenade that every german soldier had, and we finally have a unit that uses it properly. OKW looks very promising. Im probably going to skip Americans for a few days as i play around with OKW, once WFA comes out. |
So nice... cold immunity? Sweet. They have a good frag of the type i enjoy using, which is now for Germans, and they build sandbags, whilst somehow having fuel salvaging. I believe ill be enjoying all OKW infantry. |
Must be some kind of marketing method?
Let the players know its release date and not tell them mush of anything about it (although give them a few crumbs?). Keep them in the almost dark method?
Sure, if you want to minimize your amount of potential buyers to be as few as possible. People buy products that the company shows off. Relic hasnt shown off WFA at all. |
Holy hell. All it needed was Shreks.
I had two LMGs and a Shrek one time AT nade then finish em off.
The problem was that the conscripts were too clumsy. One guy kept running up to the enemy to use the flammenwerfer, and 4 guys kept tripping on themselves to use the lmg (randomly running into cover, then going prone to fire a burst, then running to another piece of cover and repeat) as one poor guy had to shoot with his mosin. I got two of the LMG's by two grenadier squads dying while exiting a collapsing building, and they both dropped their LMG's at the doorstep. |
Conscripts with 4 LMG42's and a flammenwerfer. I got lucky one game. |
The fanboyism and the political aggressiveness stems largely from the fact that this game bases on the armies of the two most adverse and powerful factions of the early-mid 20th century, a time that is still recent enough to affect people today. Now, if we had fanboys of fictional factions like in Starcraft, then we can all laugh at those people as it is merely a game with no depth in its factions. But since this is a WW2 RTS, it is doomed to have its factions favored by those who approve of the factions politically and mentally. Its terrible, as people disagree based on their beliefs at points instead of balance and actual gameplay. Thats what makes this community so difficult to trust - people's judgement is impaired. All we can do is hold on tight and hope Relic's... (positive in this case) stubborness ignores all the critics who are not just concerned about faction balance. Granted, i dont think there are Stalinist Communists here, nor Nazi apologists, despite the names, but this is one complex community that has a hard time making up its mind and tends to bitch more than needed.
I dont blame Relic for not talking to us often - they'll recieve more than what they need, and that must be frustrating.
I hope they keep a clear mind and ignore the insensible arguments and complaints that follow the release of WFA. I just want to enjoy this game, and it annoys me that rash decisions and complaints always seem to ruin it. |
