I'm doing something odd with these forums... lol. |
Thread: Maxims in 1v121 Dec 2015, 22:13 PM
Hi, I watched your replays. 3 Maxims 2 Cons opening is indeed good against certain builds. But IMO it relies too heavily on support weapon (in this case the Maxim) => more static play, your ability to maneuver is very limited => weak against vehicles (you don't have enough Cons to snare), snipers and indirect fires such as mortars, Leigs etc. Thanks for taking the time to watch the replays and give feedback! I think on Semoskiy it didn't work as well as I had hoped because of all of the houses, although it still managed to work out ok. In the game against Choccy I think I used the aggressively to a point (like when I brought enfilading fire with the third maxim on his 2-3 squads on the middle VP after suppressing them with the first two). On more open maps like Langreskaya, Minsk, Angoville it's easier to use them aggressively. They can also building hop quicker than axis MGs due to their short deploy time. I think when I have an infantry force of 2 cons/ 1 shock troop and a mortar, it makes the 3 maxims work well. T70 to push lead, SU76 if behind. Because there's no upgrades, I just spend muni on mines, so I don't think having more cons with AT snares is really an issue. Three Maxims make it easy to hold both fuels or deny one, something that in 1v1 can be very important to closing out a game early. Even if the enemy has sweepers, the mortar makes it dangerous for enemy tanks to sit on mines that are placed on chokepoints (Angoville, Kholodny Ferma winter/summer). I beat Iron Emperor with it. Had his Nazi ass base pinned ![]() Hi, I watched your replays. 3 Maxims 2 Cons opening is indeed good against certain builds. Thread: Okw Elite Armored.21 Dec 2015, 07:31 AM
I played a 1v1 against a fellow Bear and he said he had to use sturmtiger to kill my double M1919 riflemen or else he would lose. And he won :c it can be good. Maybe as a last-ditch attempt if you need to win. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Invincible AT gun21 Dec 2015, 07:14 AM
On the topic of invincible AT gun, I've had it happen with a 17lbr in a 4v4. Didn't save the replay. Was current patch of coh2. If anyone has encountered it, Relic would appreciate the replay I think. In: COH2 Bugs |

Got rekt. Should've got AT gun instead of medics to help counter the 222 ![]() In: Replays |
Thread: Opinions of Penal battalion21 Dec 2015, 04:28 AM
How are penals doing this patch? I need alternatives to doctrine infantry call-in reliance (shocks or guards) Vs the effing OKW ubermensche tidal wave. Yo, check out the thread I made on Soviet strats about Maxims. Three Maxims are so good with decent micro. No need to worry about rifle nade wipes either... it's nice. Against OKW I have no issue if I go 3 Maxims. Usually two cons. Molotovs work fine in urban settings. Get a third conscript if you need to get shit out of buildings quicker, and/or a mortar. You don't really need shock troops or guards although shock troop smoke nade really helps out a lot. If you don't like using shocks because it's boring... I can understand that feeling. |
Thread: Elite Troops Stun Grenades causing terrible gameplay21 Dec 2015, 04:21 AM
Ugh, this thread reminds me of the thread I made August last year on the official forums about Scavenger Artillery destroying USF bases, causing a loss in a 1v1, then people telling me I can repair my base and don't need to pay fuel to rebuild it so it's not OP... ![]() I wonder if the same behavior on sturmpioneer concussion grenade is present. You don't see them too often. In: COH2 Bugs |

What do you all think of the following build: T2 Maxim (x3) Con (x2) Shock Troops/AT gun T3 T70 SU76 Here are three replays of the build. What do you all think? Edit: adding replay adding second replay (a good one) against Strummingbird: Am I a Maxim spammer? I don't think so. I hope I'm not. I only build three. Note: According to CELO, Hulksmash was ranked 138 then 160 something when I played him; he doesn't have lots of hours though. Only level 60 something, although for a new player he did very well and that reflects in his ladder rank. |
Thread: More Maxims21 Dec 2015, 02:48 AM
Second automatch game tonight with Maxim maxim Maxim con con buildorder. This one was a bit harder to pull off just because of the nature of Semoskiy. What do you all think? PS: I got matched against the same dude twice. The game between these two the okw player dropped after about 15 seconds so it wasn't worth uploading. What does everyone think of this build? I think all of the appropriate counters were built. Good Teller mine placement got my t70. I was aware I did not sweep the area but took my chances. In: Replays |
Thread: Maxims21 Dec 2015, 02:45 AM
Testing out this new Maxim Maxim Maxim Con Con build order I've discovered... boy is it fun. In hindsight, I should have got AT gun right away instead of shock troops... I was just thinking about how badly I needed shock troops because they are wonderful. Anyway, besides that, what does everyone think of this? In: Replays |
