They suck against other infantry, can’t take medic/arty upgrade and are only useful for the snare. Hell, they’re not even great against vehicles. It’s also a low workload solution. The squad is already in the game. I’d rather just give tommies a snare upon researching grenades. Why do people think that would be OP but rifles carrying double BAR, LMG grens, volks, guards, ppsh cons and having snares are fine? Tommies are good, great even but require extreme investment to out perform LMG grens and vetted Volks, while also being less flexible. Edit: Falls have snare and can paradrop anywhere on the map and can stealth but they’re hardly OP. Ost’s Jaegar command squad can sprint and snare and has an extra model over grens and comes out of the box with g43s. I hardly think giving tommies a fuel based upgrade snare would break the game. AT tommies BOYS rifle is the same as guards PTRS, so it is useful vs infantry. Remember that they are "good enough" that modders attempted to nerf them out of the game by nerfing their AT nade, disallowing utility upgrade and disallowing bolster to affect them. In: COH2 Balance

And I'll help you with the follow up conclusion to that: Which means UKF IS in unquestionably poor state. Its completely and utterly irrelevant how it performs in unequal matches. It does not stand up in competitive environment due to all endless nerfs it received patch to patch without addressing a singular weakness of the faction and that is all that matters here. That's because you have the common misconception that the matchmaker matches you based on skill. It doesn't: it matches you with and against players of similar ELO rating. ELO is based purely on wins and losses. That means the UKF players it gives you are ones that tend to win and lose against the same players you do. If UKF is bad (and tbh it is atm) then UKF players of equal skill to you will have a lower ELO than you, and you'll therefore be matched with UKF players of higher skill. This only stops working when there are no higher skilled UKF players left to give, which happens at the top of the ladder. And how are you going to address the fact that top players who mained brits abandoned the faction saying how useless it is and how they are unable to compete? Do they need to git gud? Did they suddenly forgot how to play the faction, despite having hundreds/thousands of games with them on top 10 level? Brits were strong AF. That is the past. It is no longer true. Current brits are pushovers, if you're winning against equally skilled player as brits at the moment, its because you got one of the "spawn on X side to win" maps. In: COH2 Gameplay

More important question would be, can vanila tommies compete in late game without bolster/brens? I don't think they can, not even against LMG grens. And their economy does not allow to field better or more vehicles then others to compensate for incapable infantry. That would lead only to a completely crippled faction and creation of conscripts 2.0. In: COH2 Balance

OKW went from good lategame to barely competitive. Both need a serious buff. OKW is pretty solid. They do struggle a bit against HMGs in early game, but by the time you put down first truck, you'll do fine. Don't bring up KT, because it was never a reliable unit, it used to be IWIN button which it should never be. P4 and panther are solid. KT was rarely used in competitive games and you know why is that? Because just like with all other heavies in current meta, it'll be just vet feeder for TDs unless you dominate and its hardly KT fault, people say IS-2 is fine with its accuracy, then so is KT, without even needing a doctrine. OKW went from batshit insane to balanced. UKF was plain removed from the game above rank 1000 noob fests(which is why you still find players like ullumulu saying every single unit they have is stil op, if you can't play all units will be op against you). That's exclusively visual effects. Small arms have no projectile, its just a hit/miss roll then proper visual animation plays. In: COH2 Bugs
