Even though units might have had modern equipment, the few officers around were terrified to train with it as any major breakdowns or losses could result in a trial for sabotage. That applies to early war, not late. Late war soviet army was full of experienced veterans. That's why everyone considers it pretty damn stupid that we have conscripts in multiplayer, which happens in 44-45 years despite there being strelky in game(soviet campaign). In: COH2 Balance

They wipe even more than fragmantation bombs and are cheaper. No, they don't wipe, it was made sure after it got heavily nerfed after introduction, unless you keep heavily wounded squads on field, whatever inf gets hit by frags is dead regardless of health. It has superior damage, because it does more damage for 40 seconds. Considerable more damage in the first 5-10 seconds. But good to read that you don't disagree with the traverse speeds. Good day. Tell me more about how you keep your squads suppressed, then pinned, then killed for 40 seconds while you do absolutely nothing about it, while pretending there isn't damage reduction on suppressed units for some time. Or how you flank an MG only to walk up to its arc point blank and just stay there. At biggest range where the damage difference matters, over 10 seconds you might actually deal 20-30 more damage! I remember it being the only counter to Tiger Ace at launch. Just ram the ace with a T34 and then nearly kill it with tank destroyers, then let the economy drain do the rest. It was, but people found it overpowered to throw 280mp and 90 fuel AT nade. In: COH2 Balance

What it's troubles are, are the same for MG42. It has very slow traverse speed. If this was fixed and its damage modified, it would be far better. Same for MG42. Soooo superior In: COH2 Balance
