Leave grens doing the long range fight, focusing on the same squad that you will close in with assault grens. If Relic can just reduce Cons's pop cap to 4 or 5 then maybe we can make like 2 Cons for each Gren squad in mid-late game and have a better chance to fight back. That would solve nothing.
