(So the area of a map that is blocked by a house will be greyed out to the player.) one way this is unrealistic though.. is if you are about to turn a corner.. and 1 metre away .. .around the corner are 20 giant tanks. you'd be able to hear them coming even if you couldn't see them. Thread: This is why i watch top level RTS Players22 Mar 2013, 20:19 PM strategy titles go through a completely different "popularity arc" than do standard action titles. some cases worthy of examination... Intellivision Utopia, Atari 800 MULE, N64 Ogre Battle, Starcraft1 pre-expansion ( RA2 kicked its ass in sales in the first 2 years and deservedly so) i can go on and on and on... many of these strategy titles start with a lacklustre beginning... floundering for a while only to develop into cult classics with a hard core following that will never quit the game. From this guys broad definition of "dying" well Starcraft1 was "on its way to dying", but Blizzard continued to support it and tweak it and adjust its balance a full two years after its initial release. Until this time no other major PC game continued to receive this kind of post sales support. Starcraft Brood War continues to live on today. A really great strategy title is "timeless" and transcends technological leaps. AKA Atari 800 MULE, Chess, Microsoft isn't even changing AoE2.. just updating the graphics. This shows you the longevity of a great strategy game. In: Other Games

I figured whatever game it was.... it would be usable on Smartphones and the like. at least they seemed to be hinting in that direction. The BLizzard "old timers" are big fans of Magic. They sited Magic's asymmetrical unit composition as one of their reasons they tried to balance STarcraft1 with such diverse play mechanics... rather than making it like Chess. In: Other Games

Thread: The Official PAX East Announcement Speculation Thread21 Mar 2013, 23:22 PM Notice "Project Blackstone" just had the 7th entry of the 8 available slots filled. PAX East is less than 2 days away. I say something goes terribly wrong on the Vessel these scientists are on... and the result is some kind of 1st person or 3rd person shooter game based in the SC universe. the way Blizzard is talking about this "new thing" ... I say the game is playable mainly on mobile devices such as the Samsung Note 2 .. or Samsung Galaxy. that is my best guess. In: Other Games
