I agree with sneakking, there's some serious cognitive dissonance in the game right now because of the chat censorship. I don't mind seeing people use existing words to display whatever it is they're feeling during that time.
Relic wants to moderate the chat? Keep an eye on actual threats or serious attempts at abuse. If someone just constantly keeps launching swear words over and over and over again without even playing the game, do something about it. Someone wants to pepper in a sentence with a word EVERY unit in the game shouts in my ear on a constant basis? LET THEM.
Or maybe I'm just playing this game wrong now. I should put my pinkie up and sip on a cup of tea, and as another one of my units screams that his leg is missing and that a Sherman needs to "fucking move", I should comment in chat, "Gentlemen, how very droll."
Look, I get what Relic is trying to do. But doing it with an M-rated game with this much focus on the language? Feels real forced and rather strange.

So I originally posted this on the Steam forums yesterday, and the response has been positive. I was wondering what the rest of the CoH 2 community thought of this: (Also, I wanted to bring more attention to this idea)
"So when most German tanks level up, they get a cosmetic change with the addition of armored skirts. I thought it'd be a nice touch if Sherman tanks got some sandbags put on the front, like in the original CoH.
I forget whether that was through veterancy or upgrading to have a machine gunner, but it was still cool to see.
Would be fun to have CoH 2 shermans, or perhaps all USF armor, treated that way."
Some in that thread thought all tanks should receive this treatment. What do you think? Is this something Relic can do down the line?

Let's not forget the "We're bleeding like a stuffed pig!" line. I think that pops up at 50 or 25 points remaining. It's supposed to be "bleeding like a STUCK pig".
It'd be nice if these lines were re-recorded at some point. |
This is a 2vs2 where pretty much everything explodes. There's a ton of losses for everyone involved, but my ally managed to hold the line even when I pulled off reckless maneuvers that left us vulnerable. You can expect lots of Shock troops, Cat Tubas, Walking Stukas, Osttruppen, Panthers, ISU's, Jacksons, Paratroopers, Command tanks, Obers, Brummbies, a Jagdpanzer, and even a King Tiger. Tons of damage across the board. It was a real back and forth battle.
GG to everyone involved. |
It could have become a causality of Twitch.tv's new policy of silencing any archive that becomes flagged for containing copyrighted music.
I just tried searching for it myself, couldn't find it either. |
"All New Standalone Single-Player Expansion Reliving the Infamous Battle of the Bulge", why is the Battle of the Bulge Infamous? US wins at the end right?
I believe it's considered infamous because that was the battle that caused the greatest amount of American losses during the war. The German offensive caught the Allied forces off-guard and thus created a "bulge" when the defensive lines buckled.
The battle itself has been the subject of many movies and documentaries, and since it took place during the winter, Relic could even utilize some of its snowtech to bring more authenticity to what happened there. |
If the content has good production value, I don't mind the singleplayer and multiplayer aspects being developed separately. That being said, if one were to buy both factions and the new SP campaign, the price shouldn't exceed $45.
Anything above that wouldn't be in line with an expansion pack model. I am disappointed that nothing was shown with the announcement, it always seems like Relic is in a hurry to push news out, and when they do, there's a serious lack of clarity and communication. They need to slow it down and be more methodical in their approach. |
I'm uploading this so a friend can see it, no pro level stuff, but I just thought it was entertaining because of the Sherman rampage that happened during this game. |
I have never seen this amount of Sherman spam before. This is probably the most armor intensive CoH match I've ever endured and by the finishing time of around 1 hour and 20 minutes, I was drained. You'll see plenty of tiger tanks blow up, a walking stuka with 60+ kills, obersoldaten with 70 or more kills, lots of death, destruction, mayhem, everything.
It was also very close in VP's. Let me know what you thought. |
I'll be shocked if you're not a top player soon. Sturmtiger players are pretty dedicated to this game, and your ally is top 10 in 2vs2.
You'll be jumping on that ladder in great leaps. |
