Thread: Pay to win :D7 Oct 2013, 09:53 AM played this game against a guy using pay to win, it was pretty funny. I lost badly, made some mistakes but so did he, his call ins made the pressure pretty intolerable in my opinion, manpower drain made teching to tank impossible without throwing the game, would like some opinions about it, I think he was better than me anyway, but the call ins concerned him as much as it did me. Considering just how good the IS-2 is at killing 3 and even 4 man infantry squads in one shot, I'm not sure I'd want to see it much cheaper. If you subtract the manpower and fuel cost of T4 then the IS-2 is actually slightly cheaper than a panther... of course you have to pay this extra call-in tariff every time you buy an IS-2, so there's that. No one gets an IS2 to counter infantry that's the point, you cant subtract the cost of tier 4 as it gives more than a single tank option, Lets face it the thing is awful and in no reflects the actual tank it should be slightly better than a tiger tank and if that has to be reflected in the price then so be it. I know and how hilarious is it, in reality the IS2 could one shot a tiger at 1500m, the tiger had to close to 1000m to penetrate the IS2's 120mm armour, the same rule should apply to the Panther all 3 tanks had 120mm front armour, Is2 had better designed armour for deflection and a better gun..yes I said better gun armor-piercing ballistic capped shell of the D25-T 122 mm gun was superior to the KwK 36 8.8cm, there is no evidence on field tests that truly say german optics were better than Russian its folk lore based on, well nothing really. Field tests of KV and T34's in America concluded at the time Optics of these tanks were amongst the best in the world. Shit out conscripts like it's your job, and cap all over the map. Go molotovs if they're camping buildings/ going MG-42. Get AT nades if they go fast 251/222. Your main priority should be cutting off and harassing their fuel. Fuel fuel fuel fuel fuel, can't stress this enough. With 5-7 conscripts + a combat engi you should have more than enough to both hold 1 fuel and harass their's continually. Then tech t2 to t3 and get a fast T-34 or T-70 depending on the situation at that point. It's very similar to how Americans played this map in VCoH. Utilize your superior numbers to outcap the German and keep them moving around the battlefield. If you're completely base locked, I'd recommend going 120mm mortar to dislodge their mgs then push out ASAP, but you're really looking to be harassing so much it prevents them from getting you into a base lock situation as they have to move units around the map to recap. Oh and mine up if you have spare munitions, it can really prevent a base lock before it even happens if their MG loses 2 guys before they even make it to the cut-off. forget the superior numbers ..meet the Ostruppen spammers they shit those babies out straight onto the map no build time required. Thread: Ossssstruppen strat? 5 Oct 2013, 10:37 AM Jump back to quoted post4 Oct 2013, 17:16 PMNeffarion theres no bulletins for Ostruppen, so just use the bulletins for support weapons like MG42, Sniper, Mortar or even go for Armour bulletins yeah I tried mg mortar, but because of the static nature of these units you tend to lose the map to Ost also Ost spam generally has snipers mixed in with it, problem seems to be the cost is so low as is the upkeep, also the faust ability plus the same commander allowing conversion of fuel to ammo means they can volley faust any vehicles you get.
