Maybe if you read the post and the arguments, you'd understand my point of view. If you micro them properly, they can survive for a very long time. Use their mobility and vet 1 detection to your advantage. Keep them protected by mines and raketenwerfers so they don't get bumrushed by vehicles. They can dodge bazookas all day and if you have a mechanized command you don't even have to manually repair them. They'll probably die eventually, but it's worthwhile to replace them here and there and there's a reason OKW can salvage vehicle wrecks... No different than replacing machine gun crews when they die. There's also flak halftracks and ISG's to suppress stuff in the mid to late game. Not to mention the panzer command. In: COH2 Balance

Try using them if you're struggling instead of spamming volksgrenadiers and wondering why your 4 squads of 235mp infantry can't stand up to their 4 squads of 280 mp infantry. Yet for 15 fuel more than the Panzer IV you get the Easy Eight which utterly dominates it. The Panzer IV is either overpriced or under-performing in relation to these units. Comparing units cross faction is pretty dumb, yo. They're in different armies and function very differently within them. Next you're going to tell me that the Jackson is either overpriced or under-performing in relation to the Stug or Firefly and the Luchs is way too cost effective compared to the T70 or Stuart. Similar role doesn't mean you should make 1:1 comparisons. Does a Sherman have Pak40's to support it? Does a Sherman have Stugs to support it? Does a Sherman have teller mines to screen for it? Cost is about controlling the time a unit appears and how frequently it can appear. It is not a measure of unit performance, although there is often a correlation between the two for balance reasons. This unit no where near to the AI or flexibility of the ostwind. reduce the cost to 65 fuel. Ostwind can't shoot through shot blockers worth a damn. Hetzer denies cover and pushes units out of them.
