Even those near the top100 ± can be just 500+ ranks with the older factions. 2v2 Random top200 is quite something but still you are probably going to be bouncing a lot. Same with AT. Regarding builds: Yeah, it´s pretty on a stale state. Against someone of similar skill, a solid strat will beat any less viable or "hipster" one. At mid low levels, spam and blobs is what it seems are your daily food. I guess is a matter of improving so you can actually handicap yourself against worst opponents (or those who don´t have "competitive" commanders on their loadouts) to try different things. I have to attack one obersoldaten with 3 squads in order to prevent any of my squads from getting wiped. If you have damage spread out, your 3 squads would receive LESS damage. That´s the problem with upgrade/specialized weapons. You keep your dps even if you drop models. AND if your concern is recrewing weapons with elite units, the 25% increase receive accuracy in combination with the high cost of the unit makes them unreliable. Theres a reason you don´t want to recrew an MG with, let´s say, PGs. Note: there was a time on the game history that MG42 "OP" crewed by either Penals or Shocktroops in combination with merge (OHMYGODTHEUTILITYSOOP) was kinda pretty scary. In: COH2 Gameplay

I assume it's that way so you can't just recrew an MG with Obersoldaten and have it be unflankable. In-fact, even the current 3 Obersoldaten guards have higher DPS than a Conscript Squad, so if the MG 34's DPS was more evenly distributed over the squad, Conscripts would take heavy losses trying to get rid of it. On the contrary, Obersoltdaten would lose more DPS with each model getting killed. In: COH2 Gameplay
