Honestly OH is the most straight forward faction to play, in my humble opinion anyway. You have linear tech progression, readily available counters for most things an opponent can throw at you throughout the game, low-micro indirect fire weapons that are very powerful, durable armor, and very cost-effective and flexible infantry backbone. They are the faction I learned how to play the game with and I'd recommend the same to new players. Boom headshot! You nail it. There also the difference between early game/late game, 1v1/teamgames and low/high level. For 1v1 the match ups are important as well as map. If 1v1: OH/SU > USF/UKF > OKW. On a heavy UKF meta, OH rules it. Till the new patch arrives, the match up against USF is not as bad as it was on the past. Teamgames: OH/UKF*/SU > OKW > USF *Whenever it pair with any of the other 2 factions. In: Lobby |

Ost don't need a t0 AT gun when they are the only faction that has a t1 snare without the need to upgrade, research or get vet. 1+
Till the new patch arrives, you are either going T1 or T2, not both, into T3. You get a 222 as a counter to T1 nor T2. You get turbo mortar with HT to counter T2. 222 is more than enough against USF (specially LT M20) or UKF. By the time you fight an AAHT or flamer WASP you can field either a pak or a 222. Against a single Brit, you can force him into AEC with sniper into 222. If playing aggro, you can keep him out of building the Bofor with the 222. If it's a 90% abort at all cost. I've lost squads retreating before it was complete.
I'll add that you should distract him before using the flame barrage. If you can force his attention in another place, you have higher chances of destroying it before he activates brace. In: COH2 Balance |
