I've been trying a penal open for a bunch of games now to mixed results. They can definitely tangle with grenadiers in the opening phases of the game. I've caught many players with their pants down and killed a squad while they microing something else.
Satchel charges are pretty lulzy. It's pretty random the amount of damage they can do. Killed my own squad plenty of times. |
Checked out that game of yours Rooster, awesome. I'm impressed that you were ablle to walk that PiZ right into the flammentrack's face and send it to hell. You did it without guards as well. I have to get a lot better with my AT gun use. Mine almost always get circle strafed to a fine paste . |

If blobs of pios are bothering you, you could try penals. Those things put out massive damage at close range and that's where pios tend to try to get themselves.
Vs. scout cars my only advice is guards. Most German players know that they can't doddle in front of them and will be a lot less aggressive with their ACs once a unit of guards hit the field. Now a days I'm getting AT nades way before molotovs. If a scout car bumbles into button range, an AT nade is instant death. |

Simply not true. I wouldn't have believed it myself until i got roflstomped by two Germans in a row using S-mines in an innovative fashion. They kill snipers. They kill entire units. Woah betide the soviet who loses a unit of pioneers behind their lines. |
I tend to run snipers often and German mortars/ mortar tracks have a pretty good record against them. If the soviet player isn't completely on top of it ( and sometimes even if ) a stray round does eventually catch the sniper. |
Yeah! I'm pretty chuffed about old maps porting forward. They're really cool.
I'd also contest the assertion that certain maps are "wehr" focused or not. The only evidence someone could have on wether a map was biased would be straight numbers from Relic. Anything else (like whether you keep getting your ass kicked ona certain map ) is anecdotal and results in rose (or poop!) colored glasses.
On a side note, does anyone know why MoscowWinter/PripyatSummer doesn't make it to 1v1? |

You'd think it would make it much easier to find a match. Given the chance I'd always go random. |
The last 3-4 guys I've played against have absolutely wrecked face with their PZ4s. Those things don't suck. |
