Thread: Panther overnerfed10 Jun 2014, 18:38 PM OKW will also get the Panther. At least that was listed somewhere on this forum. So I hope we will see some further adjustments to it. As I already said, the cost isn´t that much of a problem (I play 2vs2 mostly though). The thing should be expensive and have a better performance. If the German player wants mediocre performance, he can go for the Panzer IV. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Panther overnerfed10 Jun 2014, 11:16 AM As the title suggests, I think the vehicle is total crap. The current (2v2) meta seems to be massing medium tanks (T-34/76, T-34/85 and Shermans) as Russians and then lolrush them at the enemy. In previous patches the Panther could handle armor, but nowadays German armor simply gets overrun. The nerfs to the Panther plus the buffs to Russian armor was too much. Over the patches the Panther go nerfed and nerfed - cost increase - less health until vet 2 - blitz nerf (useless) - less additional armor on vet 2 and Russian tanks got buffed - damage increase of the T-34/76 - penetration and armor increase on the T-34/76 - Su-85 got slightly more speed again etc. The only thing the Panther got was a penetration increase - which might be a buff but in most cases doesn´t change a thing. It could penetrate most targets before that. The fact that Russian tanks now can flank the Panther is good. But for that price the Panther doesn´t pack enough of a punch. Even the frontal armor doesn´t deflect enough shots of 85mms. Throw in abilities like mark target and the frotnal armor is non existent. A cost decrease wouldn´t help, the vehicle has to be buffed. Who wants another Panzer IV? Also with the lack of anti infantry power the vehicle should excel versus armor. If it´s supposed to stay this way versus tanks the anti infantry has to be buffed (again, I´m against that as that would make it a Panzer IV). Imo the fact that the Panther isn´t built in most of the games nowadays speaks for itself. In: COH2 Balance

The only use they seem to have is to park them next to your MG in cover and hope the enemy is dumb enough to charge right into them. Totally worth 340 mp. No, but there is a serious problem if a - 340mp unit with high reinforce cost - that has to attack close to mid range has the same survivability as a -240mp unit with average reinforce cost - that is designed to stay at long range (usually cover). That leads to Gren spam. The meta pre patch was about going for two PGs early to mid game. Nowadays for the same cost of two PGs you get two Grens and an ammo cache. A much better investment for your manpower. In fact I didn´t build a single PG in the last 5 games as Germans. Only Grens and Paks. PGs are a liability atm. They aren´t as good as Grens on long range and never get in close range as they die like flies. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Hands on Western Fronts Armies2 Jun 2014, 13:12 PM This isn´t a bout swastikas. This is about the Balkenkreuz - a symbol that´s used by the German army. Currently the OST vehicles have it - or at least something resembling it quite good. The new symbols are way to comic style. Now that I see the US one also, I can´t help but laughing. Though I hope it´s just the loading screen symbol and not on every vehicle for them. What´s so hard about making an Allied star, or if it has to be different from the Soviet star a simple US flag. Everything is better than this sword. That motor-cycle gang emblem however seems to be on every OKW vehicle so far. Keep riding into the sunset, boys. In: Lobby
