I just don't see the point in playing a scripted game against a boring computer incapable of rational thought. I would never buy an RTS to only play single player. 90% of the fun in an RTS game (IMVHO) is the competitive aspect. I mostly play 2v2 and 3v3 since I'm still not great and don't have a lot of hours per week to practice, but I've done a bit of 1v1 and am attempting to improve. Glad there's no leaderboard yet though, as I think it'd discourage me somewhat to see exactly how much I'm losing I'd like to see how many sales they've had across both digital and physical copies. I'd imagine that there'd be at least as many digital as physical copies sold. In: Lobby

I'm 28 and live in the northern part of Virginia. During the day, I'm a SharePoint administrator, and at night I'm a husband, father, RTS gamer and writer for the publication RTSGuru.com. I played StarCraft 2 for about 2 years, but left after I became a parent as keeping my practice up (I found that I needed to play roughly 7 hours a week or more to just stay at my same level of competency) was too much for me as a father with a really erratic gameplay availability. I'd like to focus on pretty simple things at first: timings for upgrading, flanking MG42s (I tend to like Soviets more than Ostheer), dealing with Flame halftracks, that sort of thing. I feel that my play is currently quite inefficient and just shoring up my play mechanics would go a long way I think. So far, I enjoy 2v2 more than 1v1, but i'd like to get more confident at 1v1 in general as well. My steam ID is bcasteel85, but my current display name is wayward-comrade. Thread: I want to love CoH2 - the Seven-Year itch29 Jul 2013, 17:27 PM As a genuine noob here, I have a little bit to add. I did not directly see COH1, so I have little to compare this to. I'm loving the game: figuring out how it works, which units are good and bad at what, trying to figure out where I went wrong (or where my opponent went wrong) and trying to get the most mileage out of my units. I am currently quite engrossed in the game, and see myself being so for quite a long time. Most of your complaints don't resonate with me, as I'm still learning the game mechanically and don't pine for the meta of yore as you do. Your maps complaint I think is somewhat valid. There aren't a lot of maps, and several of the maps are just winter versions of other maps. But the game hasn't been out long, and Relic never releases tons of maps for their games (if DOW2 is any indication of this). that'll probably be the easiest change for them to implement, and they've already indicated that more maps are incoming. I can't speak to commanders too much yet, I don't have enough games under my belt with each one. I do find some of their abilities forgettable, but this can be fixed either with balance, or shifting meta. So, while 7 year veterans might have flagging interests, this stone cold noob is finding a lot to keep him occupied In: Lobby
